  1. FWIW, I am now using a paid for version of Kaspersky that I can install on up to 3 computers. We also use their Enterprise version at my work. From PC Mag .... "The independent testing labs consistently award Kaspersky Anti-Virus their highest ratings, plus it aces our own antiphishing tests, adds plenty of bonus features, and it's fast. That's enough to earn our Editors' Choice nod again this year. "
  2. AVG and Avast are free anti-virus apps Spybot S&D is a good freeware spyware/malware app.
  3. Exactly the reason (well, one of them) that I bought Victory. The looks (speaking for the XCT, not the Vision). The RSV, Kaw Voyager, Harley EGU, and now the Indian ... all big touring bikes that all have similar lines. Only the Vic XCT stands out from the crowd IMHO and frankly, it out performs and out handles all of those bikes and is super simple to work on. Dropping this product is sad, sad news IMO.
  4. In the 3 years I had mine, oil changes and tires was all that was needed. Every other maintenance item that one would normally encounter on any bike (brake fluid changes, brakes, etc) pretty much any bike shop can do. One does not need a dealer to maintain a motorcycle and those Vics don't need much more than regular maintenance. (just sayin) Having said that, could it be possible your Vic dealer might switch over to Indian but still do work on Vics?
  5. Personally I wouldn't rule out buying one for a couple reason's .... 1st, there will probably be good deals to be had and 2nd, support and aftermarket stuff will still be available for several years yet. I was very happy with my XCT. Wouldn't have sold it if I hadn't decided to retire and become a full-time RVer, not to mention that I just can't handle those long trips on a bike anymore. Plus, we used the money to pay off our mortgage coz my wife retired. Dang I miss that bike! Best bike I ever had!
  6. I fail to see how you arrive at that conclusion! Having owned a 2013 CCT I think they are fantastic bikes and frankly I'm saddened to hear this news. I know there are many others who share that over on the various Victory forums.
  7. Not to mention all those after market suppliers and specialty shops that support them.
  8. Holy Smokes!! WOW ... that's a shock! They were a major competitor I thought. Well at least they will be putting focus into the Indian line but it wouldn't surprise me if that eventually died also. This could have a major effect on resale value. Glad I sold mine when I did.
  9. so ...... one could say you're "self-centered" then.... :stickpoke:
  10. I'm surprised I haven't responded to this thread already! Looking back over the posts I see there are several "Expired memberships" as well as a number of "Guests". Would be interesting to know what happened with those folks. Anyhoo, I found this site in 2006 right after I bought my '87. I was getting the E-4 (or whatever it was) code on my shock air controller. Found the answer here and made the fix. Been an active member ever since although it's been several years now since I've owned a Venture. Met a lot of great people from here and look forward to meeting more in the not too distant future as my wife and I embark on an 8 month tour of Canada and USA (pulling a 5th wheel) starting August this year.
  11. Might just look you up when we're in FL Nov 2017 thru Jan 2018. We'll be camping somewhere near there ... maybe Cedar Key area.

  18. I'm guessing you found it funny ......
  19. no biggie, been there a few times already LOL
  20. I don't find it rude at all ... but I do find it annoying when, for example, I'm riding on the commuter train to/from work (which is usually packed) and there's several conversations going on, each in a different language and often due to the dialect, the voices are loud ... very annoying! And there's a couple next to you trying to carry on a conversation in English and you can't hear a danged word they're saying. In contrast, when I travel to another city, outside of our area, one rarely hears folks speaking a different language. Vancouver and surrounding area is made up of a large percentage of people from other countries.
  21. I think I'll friend you on f/b just so I can read your rants LOL
  22. WHAT???? and all this time I thought you were perfect and didn't do that ! I suppose next you'll be telling us you also rant about religion? geeesh Don ... I dunno if I can still look up to you now.... :stickpoke:
  23. people speaking a zillion different languages other than English (which is normal here)
  24. How true! In my case, I much prefer warm, dry weather. Summer 2015 at VW Yreka it was over 100 every day. Yes, that was a bit extreme for me, considering what I'm accustomed to but I'll take 85-95 degree temps anytime. Here in Vancouver we get a lot of rain and this past fall has been excessively wet and cool and the dampness gets into yer bones and it's very depressing. I hate it and can't wait to get away from it!
  25. I unfriended my niece on f/b because I got tired of seeing a lotta crap about nothing clogging up the screen from stuff I wanted to see ... she thought I was unfriending her for real ...
