  2. I saw no such thing in those pictures you posted! c'mon .. put your proof where your words are! LOL
  3. Me too ... I would have not gotten married! LOL
  4. Very cool! https://www.facebook.com/seen.everything/videos/1091427507628452/
  5. hmmmm ... I wonder if making 3D parts to use to create a mold that you could use to make metal parts would work? My son used to work in a metal molding plant where they made all sorts of things. On one of our streets downtown here we have some pretty decorative street lamps ... he made all of the "arms" in that plant.
  6. Have you considered farming out the creation of the parts to a 3D printer? These things can do amazing stuff nowadays.
  7. You could go to some of the RV forums and probably find lots of info. Here's one I frequent... http://www.rvforum.net/SMF_forum/index.php
  8. I had an '03 VTX1300 for a short time. didn't like the way it handled at slow speeds. Never did take it out of my neighborhood. Never rode an 1800VTX but if it were me, I think I'd go for the V-star 1300 Tour.
  9. I had a bag on my bike once .... she didn't last long though
  10. Well it has been a long winter and I was just sitting here thinking about how similar motorcycles are to women and/or marriage. Here is my list of reasons: Once you have one you don't want anyone else to touch or ride it. Some guys only get new ones that have never been ridden while other guys prefer used models. You see a bike that you instantly love and decide to get, then after a little while you can't stand it and it costs you a fortune to get out of it. Some guys like Japanese, some American and some European. Personally I think the Italians are the sexiest but they have very high maintenance costs. When you are 16 you want to ride all the time, a couple of times a day, when you are older you are happy if you get to ride once a week. Some guys like dirty bikes. Some guys put on protection before they ride, others just hope right on. I know that sometimes my bike won't start very well, I have to warm her up for a while. Some guys like a hard seat, other prefer more cushy. As soon as some guys get a new bike they want to start test riding others. Some guys like to go for short rides and others prefer longer rides. If you are far away from home, some guys like to just rent one and go for a quick ride. There is nothing wrong with looking at another guys bike. The exhaust on my bike is too loud. I don't know about you but my bike cost me a fortune. Some guys don't like bikes, they only ride cars. Even after you get rid of one, it can still come back and bite you in the a$$.
  11. You both are on my "bucket list"
  12. I retire in July. Wife retired last Sept. I wasn't planning on retiring for a couple more years .. one at least. I work for a company that has a contract with the Provincial Government. The contract goes up for renewal and bids are accepted every 5 years. My employer has had the contract for 25 years but this time the Gov awarded it to a different company. The contract ends June 30th so, we had to scramble some and decide what we should do. Unfortunately we don't have a "nest egg" and our pension incomes weren't sufficient to continue living where we are so we were left with basically 2 choices... a) sell our place and move to a less expensive place to live and then just be retired and do nothing or b) sell our place and use the money to go on an adventure before we are too old and broke to do that. We chose "b". It was really our plan all along but we would have been better off financially had I been able to work another year or two. All in all though, it's all turned out the way it should and for the best we feel. We got a good price on our home, it's fully paid for, we don't have any debt, our health is good so we're looking forward to the next couple years of being gypsies and exploring Canada and the USA. As you still have 9 years and are "counting down the days" ... then I must be counting down the hours! LOL
  13. 1. We sold the bikes 2. We upgraded our truck to a 1 Ton complete with 5th wheel hitch 3. We purchased a 5th wheel RV 4. We just sold our house today (March 18). 5. That will be when we hit the road beginning of August! Seems everything is falling into place as we planned (and hoped).
  14. Yes, there is an odor and they do suggest letting it air out but ours never seemed to smell too bad at all when we got it. Perhaps it had already aired out in the warehouse???
  15. Ours doesn't. What it does do is if it's cold when you crawl in, it takes no time to match your body temp. We've never found ours to feel hot or uncomfortable. We can have the temp in the house quite cool and still feel warm and comfortable in bed. We also have a good quality moisture wicking mattress cover that is breathable, resists mites, etc , protects against bacterial growth, stays cool, and is water proof. We paid a good dollar for it but IMO, it was worth it. Having a good bed is very important.
  16. We bought a new king size memory foam bed 2 years ago. Paid a good chunk of money for it. Can't recall the brand and it's currently "occupied" so can't look. It is super comfortable and holds it's shape. When we bought it, we hoped to get another mattress that can be flipped like our previous one but they apparently don't make those anymore .. well, at least that's what we were told and there wasn't any in the store (this is a bedding only store so they have all major brands and models). We do spin it end to end every 6 months.
  17. Look here, you will see a couple templates https://www.google.ca/search?q=RSV+road+king+muffler+bracket&client=aff-maxthon-maxthon4&hs=1zS&affdom=maxthon.com&channel=t18&biw=1872&bih=920&site=webhp&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwj5lL752czSAhUB0WMKHbTUB88QsAQIJw Also, get yourself a set of VTwin 31-9920 chrome clamps. They have the width to cover the exposed area.
  18. True or not it would seem to me that if it's tied down properly, there wouldn't be much shaking around, if any, or drive line movement. Securely tied, the bike should pretty much be one with the trailer therefore anything of the bike that might "shake around" would be loose items in the bags or other compartments and the gas & oil. I could be wrong though as I was once before.....
  19. Me and my 2 cousins (we were age 6 & 5) throwing rocks from a cliff at the passing vehicles on the highway below. We all got a lickin from my uncle and then the cops showed up couple days later. Don't know what transpired there but we got a lickin again!
  20. and then there was the time I stuck my tongue on a frozen metal pole (which I'm sure everyone else has done ) LOL
  21. That reminded me of a time when I was 35 (still not grown up apparently) .... I'd taken my 14 yr old nephew to the water slides. They had this super long, straight down slide. After several runs down in the "normal" positions, my nephew suggests we go head first and when we hit the bottom, do a "tuck and roll" into the pool. Yaaaaa!!! and off I go ... I heard a few *CRACKs* when I did the tuck .... my neck bones have never recovered and the chiropractors have gotten rich off me since then! geeesh!
  22. The ramps on the Uhaul M/C trailer and the 5x9 trailer have a dual setting so you can lock it on an angle backwards. This accommodates the trunk... you should be good to go on either trailer as I had no problem hauling my Victory on the M/C trailer and it's bigger than a 1st gen. .
  23. I've hauled my '06 RSMV on a Uhaul trailer that was a bit larger than an M/C specific Uhaul trailer. It was the 5x9 with ramp trailer. Hauled my '13 Victory CCT on the Uhaul M/C trailer.
  24. Climbing that big ole tree and losing my grip .... Trying Chewing tobacco ... barf! Playing hockey with grown-ups ... I still have back problems from that. Stealing my dad's car whenever I got a chance .... eventually I got caught ... I've never been the same since! Having a "play sword fight" with empty pop bottles ... the scar is still visible and the nerve never did regain feeling! Pretending I was a race car driver with my first car on my first snow covered roads ... Begging my dad for a taste of his whiskey after he'd had several shots ... can't stand the stuff to this day (he made sure of that). Trying to go over a jump on my friends wide handlebar, balloon tire bicycle .... my ribs have a memory LOL At age 8 - Pretending I was camping and lighting my campfire on the kitchen counter ... 2 weeks later the building burned down ... but I was at school that day so it couldn't have been my fault.
