Better Venture / Goldwing Comparision for your Specific year

Actually, yes I have and it really isn't as bad of a job as some would make it out to be.... albeit a "tad" more involved than on most any other bike out there LOL -
Better Venture / Goldwing Comparision for your Specific year
SilvrT replied to GolfVenture's topic in Watering Hole
Not gonna talk about my 83 Aspencade, 85 & 87 Ventures .... just the '06 RSMV and the '03 GL1800. I had the RSMV for 3 years. It was practically new when I got it. Loved the looks of the bike, hated the handling. Loved the power, hated the clutch basket whine. Loved the floorboards, etc ... hated the seat and handlebar position. For me, it was a "love-hate" situation with that bike. I modified this, adjusted that, and added stuff but up until the day I sold it, I would think to myself as I headed out for a ride.... "will I love or hate this bike today?". I now have this '03 Wing. All I can say is three words .... "I love it". It looks great (mostly due to the color which I love), it handles like a crotch rocket and is effortless and tons easier to handle at low speeds than the RSMV was, the power of this bike is amazing and can even be scary, I wasn't too sure about the seat at first but I find I can ride a lot longer on it than I could on the RSMV even after modifying the seat and adding a backrest to the RSMV. This could be due to the foot position on the Wing which forces me to sit straighter. I did add handle-bar risers to the Wing. At this point, I have experienced nothing about the Wing that might cause me to "hate" it. -

It was a sad end to my day
SilvrT replied to mini-muffin's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
It's always so sad to lose someone so special. Very sorry for your loss. Just keep passing on the love to those around you now and onto those to come; it's our turn now as the 'getting to be older generation' to pass along our heritage, family stories, and the good 'stuff' of family and friends. Soon you will have a new little one to nurture, that's what life's all about. Best Wishes! -
Well, the year's highlites for us were.... The trip to Cody & return with our 2 riding companions, Sailor & Camos. What a great experience that was, not to mention the time in Cody itself and meeting up with old friends and making many new ones. We bought a used Leesure-Lite trailer in Spokane prior to the Cody trip and picked it up on the route home. Got it all packed up and went camping on the Sept long weekend just north of Osoyoos. The weather was with us and we had a great time. So looking forward to summer 2012 and more camping. The M&E in the spring when Wizard765 came out here. Finally, we bought a Wing and sold our RSMV. We were sad to see our "baby" go to a new home but were very fortunate to be able to sell it so quickly, considering the time of the year. We're looking forward to putting lots of miles on the Wing and pulling out tent trailer all over the place in the coming years, especially when we retire. All the best to everyone in 2012!!! Rick & Nina

I TOTALLY AGREE !!! I see more and more newer vehicles and in many cases, expensive ones, running around with either one or both headlights out or taillight / brake light out and it's probably because the owner either a) doesn't know; b) knows but doesn't give a crap; c) knows but can't see the point in spending $150 to fix a light bulb; d) knows but can't afford to have it fixed. This is absurd and just one more way that automakers are forcing us back to the dealer for parts and service coz that's really where they make their money.

I got this one for Christmas a year ago. http://www.homedepot.ca/product/ryobi-10-in-laser-drill-press/930979 Happened to be on sale for $99. It was also advertised to have a vise but none was in the box. I questioned them about it and found the ad was made in error but they gave me a vise anyway. Don't use it a lot but it does work quite well.

I use Kaspersky Business suite on our office systems & servers plus we have a firewall with an A/V subscription. Not necessarilly something for home use tho but I believe you can get Kaspersky for home use.
-
I also use Avast. Used to use AVG but for a while it was hogging resources so haven't used it for a couple years or so. The fact is that no matter which of the "popular" A/Vs you use, there will still be a chance that something might get past "your A/V" whereas it might not have with some other A/V. In all the years I've spent supporting systems, I've had a number of times where some virus has gone undetected by one A/V or another, yet found with some other A/V. That being said, I would not recommend running more than one A/V at the same time as it will bog your system down.

Now that is downright MEAN!!
