Was just poking around looking at pics of 2012 Rocket IIIs .... and boy those saddlebags look familiar ... seems I've seen the almost identical ones on 1999 - 2012 RSVs. ???? Could it be that Triumph is made of parts from other bikes?

Same here ... don't know why ... maybe I like to be abused.... So, you think it'll only cost ya $12 eh? Well, that's just a ploy to get you in the door .... won't be long b'fore you start doing all the little add-ons and fixer-ups and then there's the safety chrome that EVERYONE will get you hooked into buying .... $12 .... ha!!! add a few zero's to that!! oh, btw ... WELCOME to the bottomless pit LOL

A dog lover, whose female dog was in heat, agreed to look after her neighbors' male dog while they were on vacation. She had a large house and believed that she could keep them apart. As she was drifting off to sleep, she heard awful howling and moaning. She rushed downstairs to find the dogs locked together, in obvious pain and unable to disengage, as so frequently happens when dogs mate. She was unable to separate them and panicked about what to do. Although it was about 11:00 pm, she called her vet. After a long time, he answered in a grumpy voice. She explained the problem. The vet said, "Hang up the phone and place it down alongside the dogs I'll call you back and the noise of the ringing will make the male lose his erection and he'll be able to withdraw." "Do you really think that will work?" she asked. "It just worked for me," he said and hung up.

I rarely ride a bike past sundown so that is not an issue. Yes, looking COOL is very important ... that is why I ride Wing... And, if I were to do this, that is what I would do....and they are available.

heh ... ya .. I saw those ... just a tad outside of my budget LOL

In comparison to many other bikes out there, I would suggest the GL1800's visibility is superior due to the lighting design. In addition I have high-intensity driving lights and fog lights. Moreover, the orange color stands out far better than any other except maybe those yellow ones. Personally I don't feel the black panel would have any real diminishing effect on visibility; however, I am in agreement that smoking the headlights could affect the illumination. That being said, I believe the 2012 Wings have smoked headlights either stock or as an option from factory. In fact, you can buy replacement smoked headlights for the 2001-2010 Wings. I'd conclude from that then, that the reduction of light intensity must not be significant. There are clear headlight covers available (haven't seen smoked one) that I thought I'd put a light smoke tint to. In any event, I was just "playing" ... not sure I'd go ahead with this. I like the flames idea and have thought of that but I also am considering some pinstriping using black and gold. Dunno if both flames and pinstriping go together as each generates a different "feel" so to speak.

Weather is crappy, haven't done much to the Wing to personalize it since I got it and I'm bored so, been playing with Paint ... waddya think? (the headlinghts are supposed to be smoked ... best I could do without totally blacking them out) Should I leave it stock? Should I smoke the headlights? And Canada needs to stop guns from both USA and Mexico (and wherever else) from being smuggled into our country. Now, let's not turn this into a polit..spit...cough.. ical gun debate. Welcome Back Kerry ... hope you two had a great time. Don't forget .... http://www.kruisnthekootenays.ca/ We're starting to get registrations already ... even have 3 guys on Wings from Florida showing up (they're from another site).

2nd gen trans into 1st gen pics
SilvrT replied to Venturous Randy's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
The above statement should be stricken as it could be used against the 2nd genners as an admission that a 2nd gen is slower than a 1st gen ... which is completely FALSE! -
Right-Click on the desktop and choose Properties. Go to Screen Saver You should then see a place for power settings In there you can define the sleep setting for the monitor and/or the hard drive.
-
What OS are you running? The monitor sleep mode is generally a setting under Power Options

Did they not come out with the "S" model in 2008 which effectively replaced the "Midnight" but still had the added chrome?

New Mark's exhaust collecor arrived today
SilvrT replied to dingy's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
If I recall correctly, this product is about $100 less than a stock collector (based on what it cost me for my '85 back in 2004) -
Can't remember ... I'd have to ask him next time I see him ... if I remember that! ... then I'd probably forget the answer
