All kidding aside... I firmly believe Yamaha just wanted to continue with the "nostalgia" theme ..... and since they couldn't come up with a big enough supply of AM tube-type radios and all the 8-track players had long since sold out ... they had to settle for cassette decks , knowing full well that even though still widely used at the time, they would soon be out-dated and in time.... would be a major contributor to that nostalgic theme.
-
Nobody asked for them ...
-
You are probably the only one ... They are probably thinking ... "let's see how long we can sell this stuff to those fools..." OR ... "one of these days, we will finally be rid of these cassette decks that are taking up so much room in our warehouse ... then we can start installing these out-dated CD players... "

Nina's mom will also be creamated. I'm not sure what she wanted done with the ashes but since she's lived on the prairies for so long and was born there, I'd suspect spread over the wheat fields of the farm where she was born. Nina is returning home this evening. We will be having a memorial gathering mid-summer when we can coordinate with everyone as the family is spread all over Canada basically.

That's pretty funny!!

Nina's mom passed away peacefully yesterday appx 4:10 PM with Nina and her 2 brothers at her bedside. She was 88? (not sure). Her health deteriorated since her brother passed last year. They were very close and she is now with him again. Rest in Peace mom.

Due to recent events that were unpredictable, our finances will be so drained we'll be lucky to afford weiners 'n beans for dinner so, aside from Kruisin Kootenays, we won't be going anywhere this year I'm sad to say.

Keemez ... you shouldn't be so encouraging. I think he was actually contemplating moving UP to a 2nd gen ..... Seriously tho KIC ... it ain't an engine pull job ... just yank the covers, no biggie ... couple hours or so and you'll be lookin for 2nd gens to race... -

A good reminder Randy; however, I think I will "steal" it and re-post whenever we get some of that kind of weather around my part of the country. For some reason the weather on the wet coast of Canada is just not being nice. Unlike our other provinces east of the rockies who are experiencing great riding weather, we here in BC are still stuck in WINTER. http://www.theprovince.com/news/Windstorm+topples+trees+knocks+power+south+coast/6288273/story.html Aside from the above, much of the interior is still getting blasted with SNOW!

The handlebar electrics housings are chromed on the Midnight ... not the clutch/brake reservoirs.

If I ate either one or both of your "reboot" remedies I'd be doubled over with severe gastro-intestinal pains so considering that, it's highly unlikely I'll be trying the lutefisk!!

Have you looked at stock pieces of plastic that you might find at a hobby shop? Don't know what's near you for stores but we have a few large hobby shops here that I'm sure you'd find exactly what you need. Also, why not just cut 2 lengths from the "cutting" board (pun intended) and stick them together, end to end and then fit that inside the bag.
