  1. After all the reports I've read, and now yours, I'm really looking fwd to the experience, not to mention the mileage!
  2. .... on the "Wing" board. Just installed a 195/55R-16 Kumho Ecsta SPT XRP. Won't get to test it out until next weekend tho but looking fwd to it.
  3. I don't trust anything like that. I see stuff like that all the time and it turns out to be a hoax or spam or worse. Check this out... http://www.whois.net/whois/dcwg.org Now, does that look like it was set up by the FBI ... on GoDaddy servers??
  4. Now that's the worst "bar" joke I've ever heard..!! (ice cream "bar")
  5. coz you prolly tried to paste it from your own hard drive or email. Doesn't work that way. Upload to Photobucket and past a url to it or insert it as an image attachment.
  6. I walk into a bar where everyone is telling groaner bar jokes. Since I can't remember any, I look them up on Google ..... http://www.schiesshouse.com/a_guy_walks_into_a_bar_and_more.htm
  7. A Canadian guy walks into a bar, on the stool next to him is some footwear. The guy says to the bartender, "What's this - a boot?" (think Maritime Canada dialect)
  8. True... to a point based on simple math ... but missing a lot of reality.
  9. A Harley rider goes into the bar.... Then he rides a block down the street and goes into another bar .... Then he rides a mile away and goes into another bar .... (and the story repeats itself)
  10. "friendships" ????? Am I missing something??
  11. Another good point (which I didn't think to mention). As for patching inside, I agree that this is the best way to repair a puncture and doing the "HOT" patch method is even better. Used to do a lot of this back in my younger days on both tube-type and tubeless tires. Having a "tire spreader" certainly made the job easier. Speaking of which, for most people, pulling a tire off the rim and patching the inside is not going to be a "DIY" type job ... take it to a bike shop if plugging it makes you uneasy.
  12. Good point to make!
  13. FWIW I plugged my nearly new E3 and rode from Vancouver, BC to Cody and back, and then a number of local rides afterwards including hauling the tent trailer thru the mountains and back before I sold the bike last Sept. Never once had a problem nor did the tire loose air. Lots of folks plug 'em and forget 'em ... you do whatever you feel comfortable with. Me?... I'm ok with a plug. Done it more than once.

  15. Just curious about your experience/knowledge installing tire plugs? 1. Did you ream the hole real good? 2. Did you coat the plug with the supplied glue? 3. Did you insert it far enough so that appx 1/4 - 1/2" was left sticking out? 4. Did you rotate the plug tool 180 degrees before yanking it back out? 5. Did you trim off the excess level with the face of the tread? 6. Finally, did you go out and ride it at 80+ mph immediately after you plugged it? If you answered "NO" to any from 1-5 or "YES" to 6 then that's possibly why it spit out.
  16. I'm sure you meant cruising ...
  17. Last Sunday was Harley demo days .... and like every other year, I go and ride 'em. I'm partial to the Ultra Limited. Tried the Street Glide, Ultra Limited, and the Trike (just for fun). Then I got back on my Wing and was reaffirmed of how much easier it is to drive in comparison ... and then there's the POWER difference!!!
  18. Since I brought it up earlier (selecting a lower gear) .... on a Wing, you don't need to as it has so much power you can leave it in 5th and just crank it on when you need to...
  19. Is it an actual "backfire" or is it just a light "popping" sound?
  20. I generally get so gassed at the first bar, I never make it to the second one...
  21. The time is getting closer where our block of booked rooms at the New Grand hotel will be gone, so if youre thinking of attending please call the New Grand and book your room making sure that you tell them that your with the Venture group. Also got to the website at www.kruisnthekootenays.ca and register so that we know youre coming so we can plan things like meals. Thanks, Brian, Rick and Nina
  22. It was Harley demo days yesterday so, as in almost every other year, I just HAD to go. Tried the Street Glide first, didn't care for the low "shorty" windshield. It also had a more "stretched out" feeling to it ... probably seat design ... I felt like I needed another 4-6 inches arm length. Next was my fav ... Ultra Limited ... If I had the extra bucks, I'd have one (as an extra scoot). 'nuff said. Just for the halibut, I decided to try out the Trike ... now THAT is a whole different feeling! If you've ridden a quad ATV, cornering would be similar .... slow speed cornering around city streets I felt like I was going to tip it LOL ... out on the highway it wasn't too bad. One thing is ya don't want to be constantly correcting the steering otherwise you find yourself "wig-wagging" down the road. Then there's the bumps ... holy crap! you try and miss them but it doesn't happen and you can really feel them. I also felt that it was geared differently than a reg bike as 6th gear on the trike felt more like 5th on the Ultra. Wind protection on all 3 weren't nearly as good as the Wing. Had me some fun anyway ... and it mostly served to affirm how EASY the Wing is to drive in comparison, not to mention the major difference in power. I had to laff at myself tho as when I got back on the Wing, my legs/feet were looking for the floorboards (riding the Harley and having a 2nd gen for 3 yrs ... it was kinda "natural")
  23. and the gear whine is reduced even more when you replace the crush washer....
  24. Unfortunately that's impossible. Even if I retire, I will still receive a pension and have to pay taxes. dang! wouldn't ya know it.... I wanted more money all my life and now, when I don't want any... I'm gonna get it anyway...
