I just turned 65. I look in the mirror and ask myself .... does that guy look 65? or does he just feel 65? .... or not? Whatever the answer to that is I'm not sure but I know one thing for sure and that is I sure don't look like the image in my mind!

Thought this was quite interesting.... http://thetimerider.hubpages.com/hub/MotorcycleEtiquetteHowNotToWaveLikeADork

Maybe my Wing can be referred to as a crossover now .... MT on front, CT on rear ....
-
Eggzackly!! And we had "crossovers" long before the word became popular. Remember the the Subaru from around 1977/78? ... how about the AMC Eagle from around the same time period. I worked at a car rental company during those years and we had both on our rental fleet .... they were great cars and quite popular.

As I am on two forums, I can tell you that this one is much more civil than that one. We know better here coz if we step outta line, we get spanked! LOL

I've never heard of that happening but I have heard of Metzlers coming apart .... just sayin.

this ?? is for the ladies (helmet hair)
SilvrT replied to midnightrider1300's topic in Watering Hole
This is true but on the other hand ... some don't realize how terrible they look in tights ... or a single colored top. Obviously those ladies wouldn't care at all about helmet hair... or would they? -
This article has certainly sparked a lot of discussion on the goldwing forum. Since I haven't read the article, I hesitate to comment on it specifically. What I can (and will) say though is; I now run a Kumho Run-flat and am very impressed. There are numerous Wing riders running various brands of CTs that cumulatively have logged millions of miles without incident (not including those who have as a result of tire negligence) Any representative (such as the guy from Kumho) making public or otherwise such statements will certainly not say anything that will jeopardize their career or themselves. CT's IMO have their "place" on an MC and definately not appropriate for all MCs. One would not run a CT on a sport bike, for example, nor would one want to run a CT on a touring bike when the majority of use is riding it hard thru twisties. That said though, there are a few who do without issues.

ah-ha! ... so Nina's "excuse" is legit then? .... and here I thought she was just taking advantage of the opportunity!

WOW... I haven't read this thread for quite a while and it seems I've missed a few of the posts. Fact is, I got quite a "kick" out of some of the funnin back-and-forth that I'd forgotten about. Now I have a Wing ... and for some reason Nina has more difficulty mounting it than she did on our 3 previous bikes. In the process of sliding her right leg across the seat, she somehow manages to boot me in the arse....

From what I understand, buying that stuff from the store only empties your pocketbook faster and doesn't really do anything more for the bird than a PROPER MIX of sugar and water. 4 parts water 1 part sugar heat the solution and mix well (sugar mixes better in a hot liquid) allow to cool before putting in feeder.

DITTO! ... and then there's the occasional "blabber mouth" who ya just can't seem to get away from and wish the heck ya hadn't even acknowledged them LOL!

ONLY chaps??? ... I don't wear chaps but the chaps I've seen have no crotch ....

My wife says the same thing and goes through a major "fussing" process both when she's taken the helmet off and while she's putting it on. In fact, my wife fusses so much when getting ready to ride, I could go have another coffee That "I do like to look nice for u" is, IMO, just their way of justifying their own dissatisfaction of how they might look "in other peoples eyes". Women are ever so conscious of how they present themselves and are constantly concerned about "what others might think about them". -
BEER !!! Drink lots of BEER !! Seriously tho, the above by rod is good advice. I would also recommend salt pills.

Nope ... ya won't see mountains quite like that around Salmon Arm (the big, snow covered ones). That 1st pic is a zoomed shot of Mount Baker which is in Washington. The 2nd pic with the "lake" is more the type of mountains you'd see around Salmon Arm. I say "lake" coz it looks like one but it's actually a river. These pics are taken partially along the flats of the Fraser River delta, west of Hope and others taken once East of Hope going into Manning Park.

... and was quite surprised by the results. Nina & I did a ride into the mountains today ... East Gate of Manning park specifically for those in the know. Took it fairly easy most of the way with a bit of rippin thru the twisties. Most of the highway riding was running around 130 km/h Anyhoo ... decided to do a gas mileage check ... which I rarely do. The ride ended with 281 miles logged (452 km). WOW.. I had to double-check my calulations... 46.8 mpg ... not too shabby if I do say so muhself! Caught this beauty hiding behind some bushes... Some of the other scenery along the way... Nina and I watch American Idol every year. It's very entertaining and interesting to watch how these kids grow and improve and then to see them flourish and become stars later on. This year's show has to have been one of the best. I had a feeling that Phillip would either take it all or be a runner up as he has a very unique style. That Jessica Sanchez is nothing short of amazing! Skylar Laine was also one of my favorites ... how awesome it must have been for her to do a duet with Reba... wow! I'll bet we'll be hearing more of her. Now, if I was a young man, Hollie Cavanagh ... watch out!! oooowwwweeeeeeeeeee!!!
