I noticed that right off and it's in the 6 or 7th para... "It was a very large motorcycle but with the v-twin engine, the bike was very narrow in the midsection."

Did this on the Wing so posting here ... The dilemma I was facing was how to put together a nice, clean, somewhat out of the way wiring connection for the trailer. Different hitches might present a different way of doing this but the design of the Rivco hitch doesn't offer much for possibilities. So, I figured I could install a "flush mount" type round plug underneath the trunk, next to the side bag and trunk release levers. As I had already installed a trailer wiring isolator kit designed for plug-and-play at the back of the bike, it was just a matter of taping into the wiring coming out of the isolator. Here's pics of my install... Product Used... Backing Plate... Wire Routing... Marking for the holes using the metal template... All cutout and ready for the plug... The plug from underside of trunk bellypan... The inside of the plug waiting for wires... All wired up (had to use same color wire coz I didn't have others but that's no problem) Finished Product ... male connector yet to wire up. Got this from a member (with his permission) off the GL1800Riders board. Thought it was a good "guide" for all to consider when parking your scoot in a parking lot with the trailer hooked up for safety. http://i393.photobucket.com/albums/pp16/SilvrT/minimumriskparkinga1.jpg

I seem to recall reading somewhere that somebody had adapted a set or parts of ... was it the old Kawasaki Voyager bars or the Suzuki Cavalcade .... something like that?? to a 1st gen because of their different adjustments. -

I don't know how it is in the USA but here in Canada, we have Loonies ($1 coins) and Twoonies ($2 coins). When we pay for something and get change back, the clerks separate them from the rest of the change and pass them to us with the bills so ... they hand us some small coins and then plop the bills ontop of that and then the friggin loonies and twoonies and it gets really annoying because before you realize it, everything is sliding off your hand. It really PO's me. Why they can't hand the coins first, which fit nicely in your palm and then the bills, is beyond me. oh yeah... and they don't count your change back to you like they used to do in the old days ... as a form of ensuring the right change is given... it's just *plop* ... here's your change .... and we're never certain if they gave the right amount or not unless we count it ourselves. What a perfect system to rip people off! (rant off)

It would seem the faster you're going, the better your chances. I've always heard (and read) that if you know you're going to hit a deer, don't brake or swerve ... Thing is tho, by the time it takes for one to realize you're going to hit a deer, you've probably already hit it! Good vid!

Only 10 more days and we'll be kicking off the 3rd Kruis'n the Kootenays rally in Nelson, BC Looks like we'll have some new faces this year as well as some from previous years. Looking forward to seeing everyone arriving there safely. Anyone still on the fence? We need to get our banquet / BBQ numbers in to the catering dept at the New Grand fairly soon.
