  1. Don, you should be thankful you didn't have my bad day. Nina and I went riding yesterday in one of the HOTTEST days we've had all year and I got a sunburn on my arms...... (hot around here is about 28 celcius LOL)
  2. Nina has never told me (or should I say 'asked') to slow down; however, last weekend riding with a group, we stopped for gas. One of the riders was on a beemer sport touring 1200 cc. He asked how powerful these "Wings" are ... so I showed him when we pulled onto the highway... at about 110mph Nina taps me on the shoulder and says "you know... a girl has to work herself up to this..." LOL!!
  3. two different rigs ... how do you do that out of one 1st gen?? (oh boy... I can hear it now!)
  4. ... so sayeth the "RainMan" Well, it sounds like you really got the WORST of it although I don't think anyone escaped the rain completely. Considering changing the rally date to maybe end of July....
  5. Here's a pile 'o pics we shot while enroute, during, and return home from the rally. http://s393.photobucket.com/albums/pp16/SilvrT/KruisnTheKootenays2012/ http://s393.photobucket.com/albums/pp16/SilvrT/ I'll get around to putting comments on them eventually and cleaning out some that didn't turn out so well.
  6. Well ... it was a soggy and cold final day ride home but we made it! Ran into Sailor when we pulled into Hope for gas and apparently we had a nicer ride than he did ... we didn't get hail LOL! Hope everyone else made it home safe! More to come later as Nina puts together a "commentary" and we get some pics uploaded. All in all tho, it was a great time. Now the planning starts for next year.
  7. No need ... I can't wait! hehehe
  8. Sounds to me like the both of you are doing nothing but looking for a little attention .... kinda like "hey boys... we went to this forum and really shook them up"... B/S .... you did your thing, had your fun, and now you're gone and we'll all laff about this for a long time to come. Thanks for the entertainment!
  9. And PUHLEEZE let's not have snide remarks from the 1st genners .... (as if that would ever happen) Just wondering about this ... as we all know, some vehicles come off the assembly line at the wrong time of day or week and turn out to be a lemon. Similarly, certain years of a given run of vehicles seem to be better than others so... What year of the 2nd gen seemed to stand out as a better production year than others? Had the least amount of issues, least number of clutch basket whiners, least number of assembly screw-ups, etc, least number of rear shock early failures and so on.... Do we have any stats on this? Any thoughts from ya'll on this? Something for ya'll to jaw about while I'm away to Kruisn Kootenays to keep ya'll out of trouble..
  10. ... it would have been even more effective had they run the D/W and took it out to find it still working!
  11. hmmmmmm... come to think of it... didn't he just buy a couple new vehicles and a couple new geetars and hasn't he been looking real close at a new scoot or two...????
  12. Maybe if Don charged it out at a dollar a month .... instead of the WHOLE TWELVE DOLLARS all at once... ya think that might entice folks more to join ... I mean, TWELVE DOLLARS!! .... crap ... I just can't handle another mortgage on my house!!!
  13. From my recall of other's having the same issue, I believe there are some tabs or nubs or some kind of raised "bumper" inside the inlet which needs to be ground off. Someone correct me if I'm wrong or provide more detailed info.
  14. Nothing to worry about... from what I could see... POND MONSTERS don't have feathers. (most here know what I'm referring to... if you don't that's another bit of great info that can ONLY be found here for the $12 LOL)
  15. ... and now I wait for GAWildkat's response ... surely she know nothing about such things .... being a Web Mistress and all...
  16. oh... and you know this how?? :rotfl:
  17. A common muffler swap is the RK (Road King) slash-cuts .. they can generally be had for 0 - 100 dollars depending on where you get them. That rear bracket fits and you will need a clamp for each side where they join the header pipe. A common clamp is the V-twin clamps part # 31-9920 I got mine from Canadian Chopper in Richmond, BC ... cost about $37 Canadian "Chopper" Dist Ltd - 604-278-6147 150-5751 Cedarbridge Way , Richmond , BC V6X 2A8
  18. heh ... too funny! Frankly, I didn't realize there was a gender differentiation ... thought all who did websites were "masters" (as in "professionals" or the "master of the web") regardless if they are male or female. I've also never been to a website where it says "click here to contact the Web MISTRESS" ... etc.
  19. heck, I've never heard of a "web mistress" before ... now, I've had a few "mistresses" in my day but never a "web" one ... makes me wonder what I been missing and worse than that, now I'm too old to do anything about it .... :whistling:
  20. My response to you would be to go to some other "non-free" site where the membership fee is double or triple and do your calculation ... and then pose the same question. If you ride a Venture or even a Wing, $12/yr is a drop in a barrel for what you'll get in return.
  21. Brian, so sorry to hear of your accident ... but at least I'm hearing about it from you! Strange how things go eh? as you'd once planned to come to Nelson for the KK rally. However, keep your spirits up and heal soon and maybe we'll see you next year. -Rick
  22. That's what it's called!! I couldn't remember the name of it but the PO of my Wing rode that several times, thus the higher mileage on my Wing.
  23. Wish you could have made the trip too Kevin. We'll have lots of pics posted after we return so you can see what you missed ...
  24. Ride safe Clive ... see you in Nelson. oh, and for the rest of the gang going to KK .... don't forget Rocket's new nickname.. you know... that one Clive dubbed him with ... starts with an "Sw" something or another ending in "heart"...
