We bought a used 2007 Leesur-Lite Excel last summer. Beats the heck out of setting up a tent. Flip a latch, raise the top, secure 2 inside poles and yer done... 15 seconds! Well, not exactly ... takes another 1/2 hr or so to set up the add-a-room and awning.

Just curious, How many Wing Riders do we have on the site?
SilvrT replied to Midrsv's topic in Honda Goldwing Tech Talk
Sure they did NOrm .... and probably those other two "instigators" of the troup "Me, myself, and I" -
Gordie .... ya just didn't cuss at it correctly!

Seems there's a few comments here that weren't "on the level" ..

I was telling Nina (my wife) about your purchase today and she asked me "would you trade the Wing for one of those (the CCT)" and I said..... "yep, if I had the bucks, I surely would" Now why on earth would I do that? The Wing is very comfortable and quite nimble. It has GOBS of power. It handles like a crotch rocket in the twisties. It DOES NOT have a Cassette Deck BUT.... it doesn't look or sound like a real motorcycle IMO. and... that CCT is one smart looking scoot and is very nice to ride. So, yes, if I had the bucks, I'd be riding a CCT .. .but not so long ago I was saying I'd be riding an Ultra Limited too so hey, I have the right to change my mind from one day to the next LOL

hey Markus... didn't you know those 1st gen's don't need oil?

My last test ride was about 2 weeks ago. Had a chance to really "ride" the CCT (was all by myself). That's when I discovered where it's power band is and it really does have a lot of "GO". Even in 6th gear while over about 110 km/h it still had plenty of "ooomph". Was a real "dream" to ride. Great handling and I really felt comfy. What really impressed me was the ease of doing a low speed tight turn. I never had to even "think" about it... first time at it and I did a full "pin" turn no problem.

But there are zillions out there who do...

Those are awesome bikes ... I've ridden them a couple times and would love to own one. Black is my fav color for a bike (besides sun glow orange lol) but the black bikes are a PITA to keep clean and looking showroom new as every little mark will show up. Ya have to dust them before and after every ride or wash them ... colors like white, silver, orange .... well, I've washed my Wing once since last year when I bought it and dusted it twice, yet I have ridden it several times. Congrats on getting your new scoot! Oh, if you haven't found out yet, those CCT's kinda like the rpm's to be about 2500 and above for their power to come alive.

hmmmmmm wonder if there's one for a Wing? Great idea!

I have a "glow in the dark" one ... never used...
-
Now that makes me wonder .... "what is there that weighs less than 254 lbs that a person can fly?" (excluding anything that is not self-powered)

Point to note... I'd originally wired the Isolator a week ago and it was working fine so that's why, when I wired it direct to the battery I couldn't understand why there was no power. I told Nina about it and she was nice enough to pretend it was funny .... and then she said "what's a negative post?"
-
Dumb things we do .... I'd wired up my Trailer Isolator and realized I'd wired it to the Aux fuse block I'd installed, which is only live when the key is turned on. Now, the Isolator is supposed to be wired direct to the battery so ... I disconnected it, patched in an in-line fuse, and hooked it to the battery. Then I tested the power connector to the trailer .... NO POWER on any of the connections (run, brake, turn)... WHAT??? I fussed with that for a while, checking this and that ... couldn't understand why no power.... and then it HIT ME ... ! ... I connected the wire to the negative post on the battery :rotfl:!!!

Now who can see their "back end" while riding?

can't even trust a hooker these days (story link)
SilvrT replied to midnightrider1300's topic in Watering Hole
Was she really a hooker? There's nothing that states that nor does it state anywhere what the purpose of the meeting was ... was it for illegal or legal purposes? If for legal purpose, what's wrong with taking your child? How would you know you're gonna get robbed and shot at and how could that be endangerment? If that were the case, a guy could be taking money out of a bank machine, get robbed and shot at and charged with endangerment. :witch_brew: (just throwing a different light on it) -
Yama is famous for "under-lubricating" things from factory, especially the rear drive; however, it's not necessarilly the needle bearing. Inside the drive there is a "dampening" device made up of 6 pins that go into rubber dampeners. The pins fit into metal sleeves molded into the rubber. These sleeves have practically zero lubrication on them from factory and that is generally what makes this "clicking" sound. When you start doing your own maintenance, ensure you pull these, clean both the pins and the sleeves with emery and lube them with Honda Moly 60 paste. This is well documented here on the forum. Here's one... http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=13263
