1. 51 mpg on a Venture (average riding 2-up freeway and mountains) is unrealistic. We all know that when we're on a freeway, we're gonna be doing 75 mph or more. We also know that when riding in the mountains, we're pulling a lot of hills and generally cranking it on when we get a chance, especially to pass those slow-moving cages ... both of these "conditions" tend to eat a lot of gas. I get 46 mpg on my Wing .... a Venture will NOT get 51 mpg or even close.... I'd suggest (from past experience) that 40 mpg would be closer to reality. You want to keep in mind that the V-max 1700cc engine is tuned for performance ... not fuel economy. Take that same engine and put it in a Venture and it will probably be de-tuned and adjusted for better fuel economy.
2. That's a matter of speculation. I have an 1800cc engine and I get 46mpg riding 2-up combined freeway and mountains .... what do you get?
3. Those are the "operative words" and to stay in-tune with the focus of your comments, they should have been "able to pay". See, that's the difference. I am more than willing to pay $25 or more g's for a new bike ... I simply am not able to. Let me clarify that a bit. In fact, I am able to if I were to finance it over 4 or 5 years but at age 65, the likelyhood of me having sufficient income for the next 4 or 5 years to afford basic living expenses PLUS have a loan payment is minimal. I might be able to handle it for a couple more years but to finance 25 g's over 2 years would mean a payment much higher than I can currently afford. Besides all that ... the WARDEN has laid down the law ... no new bike unless we win a lotto! LOL!
4. See my prev post. Yes, the basic design is 10 yrs old but there have been several upgrades to the "basic bike" and besides, the "basic bike" was light years ahead of the RSV when it came out in 2001.... Don't get me wrong and think I'm bashing the RSV ... not at all, it's a solid bike ... just venting along with most of the rest of you who are disappointed with Yamaha not bringing out any changes to the RSV.
5. Enlighten me on who these guys in Milwaukee are and what they make. Obviously I am somewhat ignorant of such things, seeing as I'm a Canuck from the West Coast. As for the CCT (aka XCT), I'd be riding one today if I could afford it ... Love the Wing but if I was buying a new bike, it would be the CCT.
6. OK, with a couple exceptions that I am not familiar with, I still stand by my statement which essentially means that Yamaha is falling off the market when it comes to a touring-class motorcycle .... they have a lot of catching up to do. I do look forward to the day when they produce a modern, competitive product though.

Jack, at your age, EVERYTHING looks a little fuzzy ....
8. Like the old saying goes... "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" .... seems to be Yammy's policy on the Venture. As long as there's folks out there who will buy this new 2013 model, I guess they'll figgure it ain't broke. Doesn't make sense to me why they seem to "forge forth" on practically every other product they make yet continue to produce this product with no new technology changes since 1999 ... a whole FOURTEEN YEARS!. Who else makes a vehicle, of any kind, today ... that is virtually the same as it was 14 years ago???
9. This shot was taken by my daughter & her b/f when they were in Nice, France recently. (those 2nd gen's are everywhere!)
10. I tried a 130 and at first liked it much the same as you; however, I found that the bike didn't track as well on grouved roads, such as you'd find where there's been a lot of heavy truck traffic ... they tend to distort the road surface leaving high/low areas. I changed back to the 150 and installed the levelling links. Got the same improvement without a tracking issue so all around a better solution IMO.

There was a few of these cameras and lenses for sale locally so I just submitted low-ball offers on all of them.... finally found the right sellers who needed the bucks. The guy selling the camera wanted $550 ... got it for $440 and the guy selling the 55-250 lens wanted $300 ... got it for $200.
13. Just picked up a slightly used (maybe had 30 shots taken) Canon EOS Rebel T2i DSLR camera c/w 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 IS lens and a 55-250 f/4-5.6 IS lens. The 55-250 lens was new in the box. Came with a real nice Lowepro "backpack" case ... all for $640! Now I can really make my scoot look great! You can barely see the house with your eye due to the darkness, except for their outside lighting.
14. They send them if you include media as part of your order. Can't recall if there is an extra charge for that tho.
15. I won't even open those ... they go straight to the garbage. There's always the possibility that opening such emails can compromize your computer. Don't take the chance ... trash them!
16. LOL ... and how do you judge them now ... (if it has anything to do with riding I'm not so sure I wanna know)
17. Which angle do you ride it from?

Goo Gone

I use peanut butter to clean my hands after working on the scoot ... ya don't even need to wash it off .... just grab a slice of bread and ..... LUNCH!
19. I've always like the Electra-Glide Ultra ... never cared for the Road-Glide ... fairing seems way too far forward. Since test riding the Victory XCT (aka CCT) I'm leaning more toward it now.
20. So .... was she a "looker" or what?
21. Freezy ... thanks for posting this... somehow I missed it "over there". Eck... whatcha talkin 'bout man ... ALL GW's are Finely Tuned ....
22. I am so bored... so, I did it too!
23. It's a sh*tty position to be in.... but SOMEBODY has to ....
24. Funny ... but un-verified to be true and "Criminal Lawyers Award contest" apparently is non-existant.
