Compression Check
SilvrT replied to MasterGuns's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
if you have 3 at 150 and one at 140 (10 diff) ... you don't have a problem. From my old days of wrenching, I think we used a 25% factor so... 3 @ 150 1 @ .75 * 150 = 113 equates to a possible problem. now, this was when I worked on cars (V8 or straight 6) ... a 4 cyl might be a different % factor.- 13 replies

... and even those who don't. Hollywood Squares: These great questions and answers are from the days when ' Hollywood Squares' game show responses were spontaneous, not scripted, as they are now. (The audience laughed so long and so hard it took up almost 15 minutes of the show!) Q.Do female frogs croak? A. Paul Lynde: If you hold their little heads under water long enough. Q. If you're going to make a parachute jump, at least how high should you be? A. Charley Weaver: Three days of steady drinking should do it. Q. True or False, a pea can last as long as 5,000 years... A. Which of your five senses tends to diminish as you get older? A. Charley Weaver: My sense of decency. Q. In Hawaiian, does it take more than three words to say 'I Love You'? A. Vincent Price: No, you can say it with a pineapple and a twenty. Q. What are 'Do It,' 'I Can Help,' and 'I Can't Get Enough'? A. George Gobel: I don't know, but it's coming from the next apartment. Q. As you grow older, do you tend to gesture more or less with your hands while talking? A. Rose Marie: You ask me one more growing old question Peter, and I'll give you a gesture you'll never forget. Q. Paul, why do Hell's Angels wear leather? A. Paul Lynde: Because chiffon wrinkles too easily. Q. Charley, you've just decided to grow strawberries. Are you going to get any during the first year? A. According to Ann Landers, is there anything wrong with getting into the habit of kissing a lot of people? A. Charley Weaver: It got me out of the army. Q. It is the most abused and neglected part of your body, what is it? A. Paul Lynde: Mine may be abused, but it certainly isn't neglected. Q. Charley Weaver: I'll lend him the car, the rest is up to him. Q. Jackie Gleason recently revealed that he firmly believes in them and has actually seen them on at least two occasions. What are they? ya... gonna try and find me some of those ball studs this weekend. I got one broken tab ... not bad for a 10yr old scoot I guess (seein as I broke it ).
-
I knew of that option and thanks for specifying the size to use coz I was wondering about that. I'm hoping that I can find such an animal somewhere local; however, when I read about using those (like you, a couple years ago) ... I've been keeping an "eye out" for them but have not seen any anywhere although I haven't been dilligent while looking.
-
Sounds simple enuf but ... how do you get the mold off the tab when it is wrapped around the indent (as in the att'd pic)?
-
From what material and what method do you use to make a mold to make a replacement tab ... those tabs that, for example, hold the side covers on on a 1st gen.?? I'm thinking a mold where you'd pour the Plastex into and then once hardened, the mold could be either simply removed (such as a 2-piece mold) or just broken off. Pics and instructions would be great... do we already have this somewhere???

Ain't that the truth! Maybe you need to be driving it more...

I thought we did this "best christmas" before (not necessarily as a contest) .... well, if we did, don't go lookin back on what I said last time coz it might not be the same as this time... Anyhoo .... I count each Christmas since meeting and marrying Nina and joining our kids together as a "family unit" as the most memorable. Actually, I can narrow that down a bit ... the last Christmas when Nina's mom was with us ... (RIP mom). Everyone was here at the house for Christmas day dinner. Unfortunately, Nina's mom is no longer with us and this year one of the girls and her b/f are gone to the land of OZ .... this year might not be quite so "memorable".
