I disagree. First of all, they look pretty good IMO since I polished them once a year ago. Secondly, I use a power polishing wheel on a drill so really, no elbow grease. I have yet to do that this year but when I do, they will be very shiney.

For me, the riding season starts around mid-April and ends around mid October. There is no such thing as a "Winter riding season" ... the Winter season is the Pimpin season

Couple years ago I was shopping for a drill press ... Home Depot had them advertised on sale and in the store was a sign with the product that it included the vise (a $35 value). I bought it on that basis, got it home and unpacked and .... no vise! Went back to the store, took a pic of the sign with my cell phone and asked a clerk where the vise was. He didn't know ... called a supervisor over ... was then told that was a mistake, there wasn't supposed to be a vise, and took the sign away. Right! ... you ain't pullin this one on me I thought! So I said, well, you had a sign that said it included a vise and I took a pic of that sign so, I would like to have my vise. After much persistence all the way up to the manager, they didn't have any in the store but got ahold of the supplier, explained the situation, and in about 3 weeks I got my vise. I guess part of my point here is that the clerk, the supervisor, and even the store manager tried to "shuffle me off". Somebody there screwed up by posting that sign but they weren't about to own their screw up and look after me the way they should have. Funny thing is, I've never had a need to use that vise yet!

Thanks for the offer ... I will consider it ... after this riding season is over. That said, looking at my front wheel in the pics, would you say they look clean (considering the bike is a 2003)? Also, do you have any pics of your wings with those powder coated wheels?

So should it be orange or black? Actually had considered doing the frame side members. Considered orange as well as black. Before I realized I hadn't done that, I had all the tupperware back on and was into the stripes. That and the lower cowl ... maybe a project for next winter. I'm not a fan of black powder coated wheels tho. I do like at least some shiney stuff LOL

After Pimpin my Punk'n I was getting bored so, decided to start rippin apart the VTX1300 and rebuilding it. This bike belongs to daughter's b/f and has been sitting for around 6 years, 4 of which have been at my place. Gas tank is rusty, petcock is gummed up and useless, carb is gummed up ... not sure what else it will need but I'm going thru everything, including a new paint job. According to the "rules" set forth by the govn't on this, the retailer (or otherwise) must use normal rounding practise. If it 1 or 2 cents, round down If it's 3 or 4 cents, round up I think I read somewhere that only about 22% of the time we would "lose" on this. So what's a few cents here and there anyhoo ... I'll just go grow me some more nickels

Finally now those danged things that are advertised as, for example, $49.99 will now be $50. If we're losing our penny, maybe they'll have to stop this STUPID .99 in pricing. I mean, who the heck do they think they're fooling anyhoo??

I too have looked at the Voyager several times ... even rode it once. Like Jack says, the plastic seems flimsy and not once was I able to easily close those bag lids. As for passenger room, well, if your passenger is a small person ....

I can assure you .... my brain was rotted a long time before I bought this Wing .... and I can also assure you, that "rot" wasn't caused by no mechanical device ... (had something to do with 2 legs and irrisistable lips LMAO)

Welcome aboard! For tires, user rubber ones. For oil, use engine oil (not cooking oil!) Sorry, couldn't help myself Which Tires and Oil are probably the two most discussed items on any M/C forum. I used Shell Rotella (white jug) oil and Bridgestone E3 tires on my RSMV. No matter what anyone else here says, these are the best! Seriously, E3's and Avon Venoms seem to be the tires of preference. As for the oil, that varies greatly.
