  3. If it works out that we do go (based on weather), you could always come over Friday and stay the night at our place. As we're both working Friday, we can't leave until Sat morning and definately will do an over niter and maybe take a scenic route on the return.

  5. Then the question becomes... specifically what programs? MS Office, for example, can be replaced with Open Office and I believe there is a different flavor of that as well that comes with Linux. FWIW, we use Open Office on our CSC workstations here and share MS Office files.

  9. Welcome to the nut house Louis. By your nick, I'd say you fit right in To answer your Qs ... The stock shield does a half decent job but I'd recommend an aftermarket such as a Clearview or F4 The power on these bikes is developed at higher rpms. If your logging along in 5th gear and rpms aren't 3 g's or higher, yes, you might have to downshift ... all depends on how fast you want to pass somebody. My seat wasn't the "pillow top" type (2006 Midnight) and I found I had to do some altering to the foam at the tailbone area and add a backrest for better comfort. Keep in mind though, I have no meat on my butt!

  14. 1. Avoid cutting yourself when slicing vegetables by getting someone else to hold the vegetables while you chop. 2. Avoid arguments with the females about lifting the toilet seat by using the sink. 3. For high blood pressure sufferers ~ simply cut yourself and bleed for a few minutes, thus reducing the pressure on your veins. Remember to use a timer. 4. A mouse trap placed on top of your alarm clock will prevent you from rolling over and going back to sleep after you hit the snooze button. 5. If you have a bad cough, take a large dose of laxatives. Then you'll be afraid to cough. 6. You only need two tools in life - wd-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the wd-40.. If it shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape. 7. If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

  20. ya ya ya ... this is just your way of welching on the amazing offer you made in that email I got ....
  21. Here's a "tip" that many folk don't know about. This is so old that I'm not even sure if it works anymore; however .... Hijackers of email contact lists will try to send an email to everyone on that list. If any one of those fail for one reason or the other, the script stops. Therefore, if you create an email account with the name of 0000000 and an email addy of ooooo@noemail.com, this will be the first contact on your list (zero's for the name and oh's for the addy) and it will fail and thus the hackers script will stop. Now, this "tip" goes way back to the mid 90's when email was becoming popular so I've not researched lately to see if it still is applicable.
  22. .... reddish P I N K I'll be lookin to see the finished product
