1. Like I said, it was way too fast for me ... but I did it. For the most part, I will ride 10-20 km/h over the limit on a highway and that also depends on the flow of the traffic... meaning, if the limit is 100 km/h and the traffic is doing 130, then I will be doing 130. I also do not like following people (cages) so if I'm comfortable at 120 and come up behind a cage doing 115, I will pass them. I like the open road ahead of me ... do not like looking at someone's bumper and having to adjust my speed based on whatever they are doing .... speeding up, slowing down, dilly-dallying around a corner when there is no need ... I will pass them first chance I get ... and then settle down to my own comfort level which again is 10-20 over.
2. Nope. sorry... gave it to the guy who bought my '06. Don't think it would work on the Wing .... but the centre stand does
3. Get the Carbon One lift adapter and let it sit on that ... is what I did with my '06.
4. Couple of the members here (well, maybe more than a couple) who've ridden with me have commented about me liking to ride fast. Well, I hooked up with a couple local Wing riders yesterday. Along with them was a guy on a sweet Valkyrie, another on a customized and souped up Triumph with the 2300 engine, and a sport bike rider (and this guy was a LEO) Those who know this area will be able to relate ... Agassiz to Spences Bridge ... I have never made this run so fast in my entire life ... in fact, I would never dream of travelling so fast. The two Wingers were in the lead with the others behind me at the beginning (except for the sport bike guy who blew past us so fast he was a blur). 70 km/h corners at 120+ ... scrapin the pegs!!! YIKES!! Long straights ... pushin 180km/h and up ... and I was lagging behind as the others had passed already. WAY TOO FAST FOR ME! Doubt I'll be riding with those guys again iof that's their normal. Wish I'd gotten a pic of the Triumph ... that was one cool looking ride ... unfortunately the rider had to turn back for home after a while ... he had a custom throttle mapping device that was causing him some problems ... thing wouldn't drop below 3000 rpm! 5. OK, here's mine ... I have this "phobia" .... when I ride or drive alongside a lake ... I get this weird feeling that makes me want to just crank the wheel and go shooting off the road and into the water ... ... now to do THAT goes well beyond rational .. !
6. y'all must be snowed in still ....
7. Kevin, you want to contact Carbon One. He makes/sells the lift adapters for the 2nd gen Look here ---> http://www.venturerider.org/classifieds/showproduct.php?product=3729&title=carbon-one-freestanding-lift-adapter&cat=24
8. OK... ok ... on a serious note, ... sorry, I just can't take my mind off something ...
9. Sorry Snaggletooth, because of me your good intentions may have just gone down the drain (I'll go to my corner now and try to behave)
10. I think 4 years ago the quality of the jack was much better. Sure, they probably look similar but I seem to recall more than one poster saying that the current ones just ain't as good and that the lift plates where the bike would sit on aren't even the same size. Now, I'm just going by what I've read in here and passing it along. Y'all can make your own decision.
11. Something to do with the number three comes to mind ...
12. Don't you know their other name is "Crappy Tire" ? Seriously tho, there's been many posts about M/C jacks and the Can Tire one isn't one of the fav choices. Seems to me a while back they changed suppliers and the one they now carry isn't as good as what they used to have. Princess Auto sometimes has good quality ones but I didn't see anything on their website... sometimes they have stuff in the store that's not on the web. The guys south of us seem to like the Sears jack but here in Canada, Sears doesn't offer them.
13. Wrong ... I have tons of 'em
14. I forgot ... things are different "down south".
15. Wouldn't think of it Kerry. I doubt it will happen this wekend tho ... birthday party on Sat, Nina works Monday, one day isn't enuff.
16. Doug's a stand-up guy!
17. Dang... well maybe it's time we came over there.. I'll ask the boss .. unfortunately, we have plans for Sat and she doesn't get Monday off (but I do )
18. heck, we figure that's a nice, warm ride ...
19. So, using that logic, 15 C would equal 51 F ... or .... 30 C would equal 03 F ... ???
20. LOL... near got me too! and his last post was July 2012 ... wonder what happened?
21. This can't possibly be true .... Easter weekend weather forecast. No, not going to plan on riding at all ... weatherman is surely playing a trick on us ... after all, Monday is APRIL FOOLS DAY!
22. NO, but you could buy a Wing and just swap out the emblems...
23. Was manager for a car rental agency back in the 70's ... in 78 we had a variety of new vehicles from Firebirds and Camaros to Chrysler LeBaron's and Mercury Grand Marquis.... and 2 Subaru wagons. Those 2 cars were constantly on rent, had the most mileage put on them, and literally had the crap run out of them.... they never broke down once, never had any problems whatsoever, and we had no trouble selling them when we needed to downsize. Almost all of the other cars had been in and out of the dealer shop at least once and some several times. We kept our cars for only 6 months ... except the Subarus ... we ran them for 2 years!
24. The Wing is such a perfect bike you can't improve on it so Honda had to do something to give buyers choices .... Seriously though, ABS should be the FIRST option, not the last ... geeeesh. But if you look at it from their standpoint (Honda's) .... they make more money the way it is now and that's all they're concerned about.
25. Only if it IS an OPTION
