1. Pretty much how I felt about my Wing.
2. Yup, that Allstate Moped was what got me started too ... but I never bought one. I was 10 at the time (1957) and we lived in a hydro camp way up in northern Ontario. Several of the workers at the dam had those to travel back and forth to the job site from the living area. Us kids would sneak out at night and go joy riding LOL!! what a blast!!
3. Heck no, you're the first one to have that happen mate
4. Yup ... and Yup And it was his "banter" that made me think of Kit Carson ... both seemed a bit "bigger than life" but always was interesting and somtimes quite comical reading their posts.
5. For a while it seemed, he was the most active poster here. Now he's an "Expired" member. Seems since he got his F6B and got back home from that "dinner with Miles" trip and his little "accident" with the woman driver in the parking lot at some Motel somewhere .... he's disappeared. Anyone know his whereabouts or communicated with him? Kinda makes me think of Kit Carson.
6. Al, you must have missed my and Feelings weren't hurt at all... I was just pokin fun and stirrin the pot (as well as putting some real perspective on your comments).
7. Been how many decades since you last rode a Harley ... or for that matter, any V-twin? I've been going to Harley demo days for at least the last 10 years and none, not even one of the bikes I've demo'd vibrated "like an old maids delight" (whatever that means) while going down the road. My son rides an '03 Sportster 1200 and it doesn't vibrate "like an old maids delight" either. I now have a Victory V-twin and it's as smooth (maybe even smoother) than my Ventures.... in fact, even my '06 Venture had vibration issues ... that little "buzzing" at certain rpms that could be felt in the hand. Oh yeah, and perform??? c'mon ... I can pull the front wheel with my Vic in 2nd gear and it will blow your RSV (and most Harleys) off the road. (V-twin bashers ) :stirthepot:
8. Now I'm curious about the words "Midnight Venture" on his speedo.
9. He said it was new when he bought it although it was 2010 when he bought it (obviously a left over). I forgot to look at the saddlebag hinges but It was the stock grey with pinstripes found on the 2008 models and it did have the added chrome but didn't the "S" models come with that?
10. Met a guy today riding a Grey 2008 RSV-S. Mentioned that we used to have an '06 Midnight. He says ... "that's what mine is". What??? I look at him and say "midnight Venture's are Black" but he insists his is a midnight. It even says "Midnight Venture" on the speedo. Did I miss something or did Yamaha bring out a Midnight Venture in 2008 with the grey color? :confused24:
11. FWIW, the more I ride my CCT, the more I'm liking it. Got almost 11,000 kms on it now and it's running very good. That "clunky" shifting is almost non-existent except when you kick it into 1st. Nothing odd about that ... lots of bikes do it.
12. I can hardly wait for their 2014 demo days here. The color on that Ultra is awesome!

14. Wayne, did you rent a Road Glide for the trip? (remembering your visit out here)

2014 HD "project RUSHMORE" http://projectrushmore.harley-davidson.com/?source_cd=Email_081913_MY14&camp_id=16 I like some of the changes they made to the new EG Ultra ... and some of the color combo's are quite nice. hmmmm... wonder how much I'd lose on a trade-in... ??? geeesh, Nina would kill me!
16. We towed the trailer to the campsite and stored it there until we got back from Sask. Vic handled the long haul to Sask and back effortlessly but for some reason, it just wouldn't avoid the bugs and road grime! I washed it when we got back to Prince George and then it took me several hours once at home to finish what I didn't get cleaned in P.G., finally doing a complete polish and wax job. A problem did occur tho as once we got home I noticed some oil weepage from the valve covers, primary case cover, and head gasket of the rear cylinder. Vic dealer will be fixing it under warranty. As for pulling the trailer, it was easier to handle than the RSV and a bit more power. No comparison to the Wing tho.
17. well, not really as we took over 900 of them but here are a couple more... The view from our campsite All set up (before the wind storm blew it down) Campsite includes pets.
18. While Brian (friesman) was heading our way, we were going the opposite. Spent the first week going to Plenty, SK to meet up with Nina's relatives for a "celebration of life" for Nina's mom who passed a year ago March. Then it was off to Prince George, BC to visit with Nina's brother and his wife for a few days before our final destination of camping at Loon Bay Resort. The plan was to camp for 5 days and then return home .... NOPE! ... Major windstorm and crappy weather put a damper on that ... we packed up and left on the second morning. What a disappointment! A few pics for y'all... Packed up and on the road. 19. heh ... we had "our share" of crappy weather at various times over our 2 weeks, including that wind storm that nearly blew us into the next camping spot LOL. Got home and barely in the door and down came the rain for the balance of the evening. Stopped raining about mid-morning the following day so I took a ride out to the Vic dealer in Langley and hit heavy rain en-route .... funny thing is, I've gotten so used to it I just laffed it off and cranked the throttle!
20. Good to see you're home safe and that you had a great trip. Sorry we missed each other in Kamloops.
21. Shipping from USA to Canada rates have jumped so high that it's almost not worth buying anything on-line anymore. Could our govn't have had anything to do with that?
22. good one!
23. ... and we have had the opposite and for these parts, a totally uncommon July. We have not had rain all month and there's only been a day or two that we've had any cloud cover at all. If we make it thru the end of Wednesday (tomorrow) we will have broken all former records for July and for that matter for all time as being the only month ever around here without any rain whatsoever. But guess what? Nina and I are leaving on our holidays, on the scoot, with our tent trailer in tow Friday morning and waddya know.... the forecast is for RAIN ... and lots of it for both Friday and Saturday all on our route!! arrrgghhhhhhhhhhhhhh
24. It's in his profile ..... Oh he already posted it.
25. NNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! don't do it man!! It will turn your 1st gen into a 2nd gen!!
