1. Not meaning to "steal the show" but your comment reminded me of another "little Johnny" joke.... Teacher was doing a "guess what fruit I have" game. Teacher: I have something that is round, shiney, and sweet when you eat it ... Little Mary raises her hand .. " I know... it's an apple" No little Mary, says teacher ... it's a Pear ... but I like what you're thinking. Teacher: Now I have something that is sorta round, has a tart taste and a bit fuzzy on the outside. Little Suzy raises her hand " I know ... it's a Peach" No little Suzy, says teacher, it's an apricot ... but I like what you're thinking. Meanwhile, little Johnny has been going crazy in the back of the room, wanting to do the "guess what I have" part but teacher is wise to little Johnny ... but finally she gives in. OK little Johnny... what do you have says teacher. Little Johnny: I have something that is about 7" long, has a slight curve in it and is quite stiff .... Teacher: little Johnny!!! you naughty boy!!! get to the principal's office right now!!! Little Johnny: But teacher ... it's only a banana ......... but I like what you're thinking!
2. If I made that contraption, I'd be embarrassed to let anyone know. What a POS IMO.
3. Saw a Harley rider going thru the city yesterday and today two crotch rockets ... too cold for me!
4. What you see there is only a small part of it. The game is GT5 on playstation 3 with a Logitech G27 steering wheel controller. It's frikken awesome, not to mention addicting. We were playing the "beginner" go kart race. Let me tell you... I have been at this for a lot of hours and have done a lot of the different races but when you get to the advanced ones, you soon find out you need more practise! LOL
5. Poppa Rick and grandson at the gocart track ! http://youtu.be/-fzBhW6ZqZM
6. Maybe fewer and fewer people are purchasing out-dated motorcycles. Used to be minimum 2 pages of new stuff ... often times 3 or 4 if I was away from the site for a couple days ... now, like you say, I get surprised when there's 2 pages, even after not being here for a couple days.
7. Speaking of raising the age, here in Canada the "retirement" age is 65. Due to the economy, the increasing number of "baby boomers", the fact that more and more "seniors" are working past the age of 65 simply because they have to, etc .... the govn't is looking at raising the limit to 67. Which simply means that benefits one would normally receive once turning 65 will not be available until 67. I think it has more to do with a "tactic" the govn't is using to avoid doling out the bucks we are entitled to so they have more to waste on stupid things. So glad I got here when I did.
8. I'm 66 and I still have to show my ID to prove I qualify for senior's discount ...
9. side?? and all this time I've been mounting from the rear....
10. Not Canada... the province of Ontario (both are from there) ... rest of us are just fine!
11. I emailed everyone listed at the end of the article, expressing my feelings. I received a reply from Ric MgGee stating that he issued a statement this morning that he was stepping down from the Police Services Board
12. thank you oh master of the universe ....

14. I am not in here anywhere near as much as I used to be. There are two reason's for this. One is a bit obvious (no longer a Venture owner). The other is, since returning from Holidays mid-August, I have been so busy here at work I just don't have the time anymore. Once I get home I am so brain-drained of computing, I don't spend much time on the 'puter at home either. Nice to know you've been missing me tho...
15. Must be a 1st gen thing
16. Ya but it took so much maintenance and repairs to keep it going they dumped the 1st gen
17. At work we have a 2-tiered A/V system.... first on the firewall and then another inside the network. That said, we access many websites from work .... if it was anything to do with the A/V, it would be noticeable on all websites one would think. This site has generally always been fairly fast to load pages or links to the various forums, threads, etc but I have noticed some things running much slower than what was "normal" over the past few weeks. Here at home I run Linux OS so there are zero A/V or anti-spyware apps running. Not seeing slowness here tho (at least not at the moment) so I'll do some digging at work.
18. Of late the forum seems quite slow loading. Anyone else experiencing this?
19. Nina and I were out for a nice fall ride yesterday ... mostly cloudy, sun peeked thru a few times, temps appx 12 celcius.
20. heh ... now I understand why I was having such a tough time drilling out the CATs in my header pipes ... the bits were red hot! LOL
21. I've had a Drill Doctor for appx 5 yrs. This one ---- > http://reviews.canadiantire.ca/9045/0542741P/drill-doctor-drill-doctor-bit-sharpener-reviews/reviews.htm Is the one you have different? (I see there are a few different models) Mine seems to work fairly well.
22. We bought an '05 Chev Silverado "Special Edition" extended cab 2x4 with the 4.8L engine 3 years ago. It had 53k kilometers on it then. We got it for $12500. Only put on 23,000 kms since. Nice truck; however, 2 wheel drive sucks when the roads are wet or snowy even with the limited slip diff. Also feel it has a crappy ride on bumpy roads. As for the extended cab, I wouldn't be without it or even a quad cab. Very handy having extra space back there for groceries 'n stuff or for when someone needs a ride. As for the box, it's got to be close to 7 ft coz when I haul a sheet of plywood, there isn't much sticking off the end of the tailgate when it's up. I'm guessing 6'6" box length. Overall tho, it's been a great truck so far.
23. Heard about it ... hoping it comes to this neck of the woods as I will definitely go see it.
24. As a matter of fact, yes (in a way) but I miss most of the past several bikes I've had. I would never go back to a 2nd gen (or even a 1st gen) Venture again tho but I would go back to a Wing (or would that be UP...) Still lovvin the Vic ... love to ride it, love to look at it, love the power and handling ... said it before and I'll say it again, it's the best bike I've ever owned. The Wing would be second only because it felt more like a car instead of a motorcycle.
