  1. So, mines black and not from California. So, by default it's a XVZ13CTMV. Thanks!
  2. I added my RSTD on bike bandit and there are four RSTD for 2006. XVZ13CTMV, MVC, V, VC Is there somewhere I can check the vin and see which model I have? Just curious.
  3. Do you know if there is a chrome solo seat rail that will fit with the Ultimate seat? I have an ultimate on my Stratoliner and love it.
  4. 500 would be the max. Might go further every once in awhile....but not often enough to warrant a seat based on 1k rides!
  5. Why they didn't chrome the resevoirs and levers I'll never know. Seem silly not to since that's all there is that's NOT chromed on the front end. Anyone chromed these or bought replacement chrome pieces? I'll be doing this within the year. Wondering if a chrome plater can just chrome the original parts?
  6. 2006 RSTD Looking for a replacement seat like the Ultimate http://www.ultimateseats.ca/yamaharoyalstarTD.html Wanting to get a seat that is lower than the stock seat, yet comfortable for long rides. Also want to put a chrome rail around the seat. Backrest is a plus. Going to take the passenger pillion and passenger backrest off, but will want to be able to use this in case I ever want to take a passenger out on this bike. Recommendations?
  7. Can any Chrome guy do these? Did you have to take the rubber off, or did they just mask that area? $100 would be reasonable for me..... That said, I polished up the floorboards (before reading that these were chrome in the pictures above) and they turned out pretty good! Certainly will postpone me buying chrome replacements or getting these chromed...
  8. Is there a fix for this? http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?p=665391#post665391 Mine new to me RSTD has a notable whine in all gears.
  9. new to me 2006 RSTD that has a notable whine. Is there a fix for this? I've been told they have a larger clutch basket that might fix the issue, but have also been told the whining just goes to a different rpm. Also been told to switch to synthetic oil, which I am doing.
  10. Thanks! Didn't know they could shine up that bright! How long does the shine last when you polish them up
  11. Resevoir covers are still available in a host of styles. Lot's of chrome. May have to settle for levers and lids.... I'll look on CruiserCustomizer and check.
  12. Looking to replace the aluminum boards. For sure the passenger ones that look like crap with all the other chrome...then do the drivers to match. Any suggestions? Don't want to have to change the mounting hardware. Needs to be durable too.
  13. The only aluminum on my 2006 RSTD is the brake/clutch levers and resevoirs. Can you buy chrome replacements for these? Where?
  14. Anyone tried a 185 on their RSTD? Wasn't sure if there would be a fit problem. I ordered a 165 and will see how much room I have for the next tire. Selection of 185s is a bit better than 165. I had a General Altimax HP on my last bike and loved that tire. Looked great and handled well.
  15. Just ordered one for my "new to me" 2006 RSTD. I'll get it installed and let you guys know. Ordered it here: https://www.tiresbyweb.com/tbw_tiresearchadv2.aspx?treadwidth=165&profile=80&rimsize=15&Winter=0&Pageindex=1&choice2=All Pricier than the others, but I lined the looks of it best. Kumho would have been my first choice but can't find those any more. Been riding darkside on bikes for a long time. Just makes sense on a cruiser.
