I also got the Garmin 765t a couple years ago and really like it. However, when going long distances, I didn't like that the FM transmitter would start cutting out if you have motored into an area where the station you are transmitting on is now in use by a radio station. You will get interference. To counteract that, I split the fairing and installed an audio cable directing into the sound system and plugged it into the Garmin. Everything seemed to be fine, except I couldn't get it to work. Until yesterday!!!! I finally discovered that on the Garmin there is setting in which you can choose FM transmitter or Internal Speaker. You must choose Internal speaker if you wish to hear anything over your audio cable. Now that I discovered that, I don't need to constantly find an unused FM station. I won't tell you how many months (or years) it took me to discover that.

Puc, I've been missing hearing those reports from you and Tippy. Like, what you've been working on, what you've been ridin', and where you've been CTFW. I sure hope that during this Christmas season your body heals a bit. I know we're gettin' older, but we need people like you and Tippy. Here's to a brighter and healthier 2017, with more ridin' days and more stories from Puc et al. Merry Christmas

We sure do need a Venture West 2017! We just need to put our minds to it, and come up with a good plan. I haven't seen Puc and some others since 2014!

I took the Venture out to run errands today. The last errand was picking up eggs from the egg farm. It seems a little unusual, but the Venture trunk is perfect for carrying a flat of eggs. (see picture) What else has a venture been used to haul? Ducks? chickens?

I put the wife on the back and headed out for veal parmigiana for lunch. Followed that up with a special baklava cheesecake drizzled with chocolate. Finished that off with a double expresso. Had a nice ride home after that.

I recently got tired of my stock RSV windshield. Just too tall and too many blemishes. Then I got some horrible spots on a recent trip to the Grand Canyon during two days of rain. So I took Colgate toothpaste (a mild abrasive), wet a paper towel and, after four applications, got all the spots out. Then I took a serious look at the shield and realized it needed replacing. I ruled out the better ones because of cost, and went with the shortest Slipstreamer, which 13 inches. $68.13 cents including tax and shipping at Motorcycle Superstore. It is a beautiful windshield with no flaws. It is a Dupont acrylic, which means it is not as tough as Polycarbonate. So I ordered a bottle of Blue Ribbon Products Plexi-Clean Acrylic Plastic Cleaner for seven bucks. Hopefully this will keep it clean and damage free.

Bullying is a serious issue and should be reported. Give the administrators a chance to step up and address the issue. If they don't, you have other resources (such as the district office, STAR deputies, etc.).

Fan not turning on ?
beastwood replied to sizzle's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I thought you guys were joking. I had to look in the Clymer manual, and sure enough, there is fan motor on a second gen Venture. Well, what do ya' know! -
I'm sure she will love it. I enjoyed mine for seven years. A nice around town bike.

I went motorcycle camping in the local mountains about 90 miles away. Slept next to rabbits, squirrels, and Stellar's Jays. I'm using a nice fifty dollar tent from Walmart. Takin' it easy.

I rode it to the McDonald's near where I used to work (retired) for breakfast. Came back and polished my wheel hubs and mufflers. Waxed the windshield. Then the temp outside reached 102 F and I went inside.

Best wishes on this turn of events in your life. -
Riding is still an adventure for me. My car is in the shop, and I don't even miss it. This is only my eigth year riding, and as long as my body can take it, I'll continue.

Well Pucster, we don't how long any of us is gonna' be here. We just appreciate that we are here by the grace of God. By the way, did you ever get your other hand operated on, and can you work on motorcycles again?
