I too switched to using earbuds for longer rides. Find intercom is much clearer at lower volume, wind noise from microphone is virtually eliminated with no more what? and whine from the back seat also stereo/cb clarity is vastly improved. Purchased my adapters through www.Edsets.com We're using Fuze custom formed earbuds obtained from www.Fuze.com comes as wired earbuds with silicone paste that gets mixed and fitted around the buds then fitted and smoothed into your ear for a custom very comfortable fit under the helmet. Both companies ship really fast and are a pleasure to deal with. Using this system eliminates need for earplugs as the buds eliminate wind noise while riding.

We have been using the Tourmaster Transition riding jacket for a couple years and just love it. Find it very comfortable and easy to move in, waterproof with good venting system, removable padding and zip out liners. Rode days in hard rain keeping dry and comfortable as textile breathes. Will never buy another set of leathers. As far as I'm concerned textile is the way to go. Got mine at www.leatherup.com for a good price

Those mud flaps can be custom ordered from Tammy at timberwolf leather www.timberwolfleather.com/item_93/Yamaha-Venture-Mud-Flaps.htm She offers several color edgings and concho's or stars. Good product, had one on front for years - still looks new. I removed the chrome fender trip and mounted flap a little lower than pictured. This way the mounting bolts are hidden when the chrome trim is re-mounted.

I have the same problem with my 99 - long out of warranty:headache: All suggested fixes did absolutely nothing so I ended up fabricating a new switch. I ran speaker wire connected to the passenger switch wiring under the rear seat. Used a Radio Shack momentary switch mounted under the left mirror stud. It works fine.

Using my Craftsman lift - I deflate the tire and wigggle it out from the swingarm. Works with no problems of great effort.

I use one made by Tim at Timberwolf leather in Georgia. He custom designs to your specs, mine has been on for 6 years without any problems. He delivers quickly and quality is the best. I also use his mud flaps.

Just installed mine from Timberwolf Leather. Great quality with super fast shipping even on custom designs.

I narrowed mine so it is no wider than the saddle bags. Adding 12 inches to the tongue eliminated the sway I experienced at 65 mph. Can now do 90+ without feeling the trailer behind me ( good for passing truckers) Running with only one (long) leaf spring installed on each side of axle, 5.30x12" tires inflated to 30 psi. Towed 4000 miles last summer without any wheel bearing problems at all.

Confused about BuddyRich Cable for Zumo
Sgtglenn replied to Maritimer's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
Buddy, I want one of your Zumo cable mods for my 99. Please pm me with necessary details ASAP. Thanks. 8/7/- Order is placed - thanks much! -
Go to the National Park service website to reserve room at the lodge or a campsite on the north rim. It is beautiful and very biker friendly. The road in is a 60 mile dead end at the canyon. Did it 4 years ago and look forward to going again.

Need Help Please!!!! Advice!!
Sgtglenn replied to a topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
Kit - Thanks for the Yamaha contact information. I printed it out for future reference as my dealer always plays dumb as to Venture problems, and is basicly useless. I get better more qualified answers with this group -
As Homer Simpson would say Doh ! I use this as a guide: keyway horizontal = bag is locked keyway vertical = bag is unlocked

So much for AlGore's global warming theory and peace prize.

I used the heaters made by Symtec. Just remove stock grips and the elements stick to the bar and throttle sleeve. Just have to use a dremel to grind the throttle sleeve smooth then reinstall the rubber and barend weights. Not a bad job, just got to be patient. Only costs about $25.00 Works well with a hig/low switch and Keeps the stock look. Heres the link to the site: http://www.casporttouring.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=16011&Category_Code=heated_grips

Just to play it safe consider disconnecting the carb heaters. Conserves about 60 volts and has no ill effect on the bike's operation (that I've noticed). Can be done by pulling apart the clear bullet connector on wire located behind the right side cover just under the flasher module. Be sure to tape the exposed end to prevent shorting.
