trailer lights and light bar under trunk
NSA Joe replied to NSA Joe's topic in GPS, Audio, Electronics
hi everyone thanks for the ideals called curt mfg about my converter the tech there gave me some info. He said it was led capable, then he also mentioned about the same thing steve had threw out there when we talked on the phone. On my model he said it was 12v constant feed and some residual amperage was proably triggering the lights to come on with less then full power. He told me I could proably fight it with adding some resistors inline but what was happening was not hurting anything and it only does it with trailer hooked up. So with easing my mind a little now we can take off Thursday for Marrietta Ohio and have some therapy on two wheels. Want to say big thankyou to steve and everyone else for the help. Best 12 dollars spent with all the great advice, everyone ride safe this weekend and hope to see you at the international in a few weeks. Joe -
Hi, I am looking for some help with my tag along trailer lights. I added a teqnix light bar from r and p carriages under my trunk this winter used the splitter harness under the seat and a 5 to 4 conveter with power wire I connected the light bar and trailer wireing in the same connection to the converter just noticed when I plug my trailer in all the lights on the light bar are on. everything seems to work ok as far as brake turn and running lights its just instead of 3 lights on for running lights all of them are on checked connections is this ok to run it like this or will it burn something up. soon as I unplug the trailer which is all led lights. the light bar returns to normal. thanks for any help. Joe

Rick hope you have a great trip sounds like a lot of fun. Just wanted to say thanks for the great job you did on my seats, finally got a long ride in today about 250 miles and I cant say enough about the difference in the seat. I even had a couple of Harley owners sit on them and they were very surprised on how comfortable they were. Debbie is also happy with her seat so it is a win win for me. Thanks again and have a great trip. Cant wait till we head south to the international should make it a lot more enjoyable. Joe:)

Hello everyone thought I would throw this out there For those who have a Menards near them or Menards.com. They have small packets of di-electric grease made by Arnold called lubricon they are 4ml packets and are on sale now 20 for a $1.00 think they go off of sale may 26 normal price was like .49 cents each. I was looking at the small tube in the electrical area it was $10.00 now all I need to do is order my radio from pinwall and get it in. if you want to look online the part number is 2702810 not bad for 5 cents a pack hope everyone has a great time and b2 mom and dads hope to see you at the international in July Safe riding. Joe

Thanks everyone for the input talked to them last night does not look good for radio they are still trying to fix but looking like I will have to replace it. Looking at pinwall they wanted a little more time to work on it guess we will wait and see if it is toast good news the controller is good. if anyone has a extra radio let me know proably will be looking for a good one. Joe

Thanks dave yeah I called and she said they are there on sat 9-5 hope she knew I meant this Saturday. Oh well if not it will be a nice ride I took the radio and controller off put it all back together guess I will just have to sing to myself. Joe
-
Thanks for the info. Plan on taking everything there tomorrow, Talked to one of them and let him know my problems and he had seen it before. I figure this way I know what I have as for a radio and if I order a used one might be in same boat. Joe

Hi everyone Just wondering if anyone has done business with Sierra Electronics in Troy Ohio. They came up as a repair shop for the radio on our bikes. I've tried all the troubleshooting advice and the book, thanks to those with suggestions. Still not sure looks like the main amp is blown thought about sending it to them Thanks for any info. Joe

Was wondering if anybody has replaced the master control for the radio and what kind of problems they had before it went out. Been measuring voltages on the harness going into seems ok and ground checks out. One other question for now when you put it on CASS does yours flash on the handlebar controller if you don't have a cassette in it? Thanks joe
-
no it Is on speaker but I tried to use my helmet on the headset setting did not make a difference.

Hi everyone looking for some advice finished putting stebel air horn on today. Turned bike on and started it no problems. When I started messing with radio I don't have any music controller lights up and seems to work ok. Checked the connections in the fairing and they look good. cleaned with contact cleaner anyway. When I turn the controller off I can hear a small noise from the speakers but still no volume tried cassette no music either. Looking for ideals checked both fuses in right front and left side also both good. any ideals have read all I can find on site hoping someone out there has some info thanks joe
