Best price I found for Mobil 1 T4 was on Amazon. No shipping charges either.

Jeff, I test road that same bike about four weeks ago. Go it into 5th gear, but never took it over 50. A bit to cold that day for what I was wearing. He told me he knew the owner personally, the bike was babied, washed after every use and the bike was in perfect condition. Given that and the mileage he was still asking a pretty high price for it. I had done some asking around about the dealership and did not find anyone I knew who cared for them. Even if it is still under warranty I would find another dealer. Their Better Business Bureau rating (on a scale of A+ to F) is an F, assuming you believe in those ratings. If it is not under warranty I would contact Star Motorcycles and see if they can provide some help. I don't think you are going to get much out of the dealer.

Jets goign to keep Sanchez and Tebow? They just signed Sanchez to a nice 3 year deal. Maybe line them both up in the backfield at the same time and let the defense figure out what do to.

At least the first two picture were nice Mark. What's with the pig at the end? :rotf:

I was browsing through the site and found a VRTech tip regarding Plugging the AIS. It mentioned popping backfires. Others smarter than me would have to chime in if it might help. Looks like a simple enough thing to test though...

Spam, scam, phishing, etc.... Best thing to do with most of this stuff, assuming you get a good sense of what it might be from the email subject, is not even open it. If you do open it, after realizing what it is, delete it. Most, if not all, email programs have a way to mark an email as either junk or bulk. If you are using anti-virus software like Norton or McAfee, you can tag the email as spam, or whatever term each uses, assuming they did not auto detect it. Why? One reason not to open it is the act of opening an email can cause embedded code to run. That code can gather info from your computer or put other code, a virus for example, on it. Gathered info could be sent from your computer right away, when you forward or reply to the email or the next time your email program does a send of any email. When the embedded or deposited code chooses to do its' damage is arbitrary. Mostly it is right away, sometimes it will be in the future. Forwarding a potentially bad email will just facilitate its' damaging effectiveness. I will also include the seemingly innocuous chain emails. The ones that say if you send this to three friends you will be blessed or don't break the chain it is bad luck, etc, etc. These can just be less subtle, more emotionally appealing ways to do the same damaging things. Anti-virus software "helps" protect you but isn't perfect. If you really think something is bad, like that FBI email, you should report it to the IC3 (internet fraud compliant center) or the FBI. Links are below. While we may get physically hurt on our bikes, damage from the Internet, which is mostly financial, can be just as or more negatively impactful. As careful as we try to be on our bike, please be so on the Internet too. One last thing, if you use anti-virus software keep it up to date either, manually or automatically. http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx http://www.consumerfraudreporting.org/cfr.php?URL=https%3A%2F%2Ffbijobs.gov/62.asp

I think Modulator might have saved me today...
octoberboy replied to frogmaster's topic in Safety and Education
Newbie question. What does a headlight modulator do differently than just flicking your high-low beam switch a few times? Does it allow you more control of the bike because you're not worried about what you're thumb is doing, or more to it? -
I remember seeing him for the first time on the Tonight Show. Think it was the mid 60's. For some reason our parents let us stay up late. He was certainly the funniest clean comedian for a long time. We bought every one of his 33 1/3 vinyl's when they came out. I think I just dated myself?

I am newbie to RSV but needing info about a 02 RSV
octoberboy replied to Normax's topic in Watering Hole
There is thread on the site about how many miles people have on their RSV's. One guy has 260,000. If you figure you might get 200,000 miles out of your bike you are paying 20% the cost of a new bike for a bike with roughly 65% of its' life left. Not a bad deal at all. -
They are around but my understanding is they are getting away from street bikes and focusing on dirt bikes. At least two the internet sites had messages that they weren't available any more. I called the motorcycle-superstore and stopped by a local Yami dealer and both mentioned Maxxis was getting away from street bikes.

After reading a lot of the old tire threads on our site, browsing the internet, reading customer reviews, I really wanted to go with the E3's. However there was just something very wrong about putting black walls on the '99. Sorry to all you black wall guys and ladies but they were just plain 'blah' for me. It just looks so nice the way I bought it from Steamer. Given that I searched high and low and the only WWW's I could find were the Dunlop D404's. Maxxis is history. The Exedra's look to be going bye-bye and are getting replaced by Exedra Max's, but no more white. Wasn't comfortable with the 130 Avon's on the front. Maybe next time after I get some RSV miles under me. Hello D404's.

Thanks all. It is a really nice bike. Working on our calendar to be able to get to the international for 2 or 3 days. Looking forward to meeting people. Thanks for the thoughts on the tie down Gary. Will store that in the back of my noodle. We made it home, about 300 miles, and everything looked fine. We took the easier, flatter, straighter, longer route home though. Was sort of surprised that even with the bike, which added about 10% to our weight, as well as averaging about 65 mph rather than 60, we got about 15% better MPG's. Didn't offset the additional toll charges but cetainly made of a nice overall ride home.

Steamer and RocknRobin "sold it, sold it, sold it" and we "bought it, bought it, bought it." It was a bit of a sloppy, snowy 13 hour day, but when all was said and done we really didn't give hoot about what the weather had been. We got home with two new additions; one a bike the other a friend. What more could you ask for? However the next time we do a trip thata way, it will be sunny and on just 2 wheels. Let the Ventures begin....

When we were kids, my sister and I, as I am sure a number of you did top, got the "How can you kids listen to that? That's not music." speech. Well, along comes the Monkey's and their TV show. Who was one of their favorite fans, my Dad. I still have two of their albums, somewhere, but I have'em.

I guess I'm a bit dense on this one, not sure what CT is for. Other than Connecticut.

Swap the training wheels for ski's, get some snow tires and you could probably use year around. Maybe it comes in black too?
