  1. Do most people just live with it? How many of you guys have had the clutch basket replaced?
  2. Thanks Boo, Sounds like it may be the clutch basket clearances. Don't think I'd be hurting the bike to go ahead and ride it as is until I take it in for the 600 mile service and have it checked out.
  3. My new '05 RSMV has only 400 miles on it so I'm pretty new to this bike. But I've noticed a high pitched whistling or chirp when I'm throttling up. It only does it when I'm giving it the gas and goes away when I let off the throttle. The bike is completely stock and seems to run just fine. However, it's really annoying after a while. Anyone know what this could be?
  4. Does Yamaha send you some sort of I.D. card to carry with you? I did not receive any information regarding road side assistance from my dealership.
  5. At the risk of sounding stupid, does that headset plug into the auxiliary jack on the gas tank without an adapter (since it's a Goldwing product)?
  6. I've been changing my own oil on my VTX 1800 at a significant savings. I buy the oil and filters online at "Honda Direct Line". I would like to do the same with my new RSV. Does anyone know of a good website to buy oil and filters for these babies, rather than take it up the kazoo at dealership prices? Also, does Yamaha put out a synthetic like Honda does for their bikes? What kind of oil and weight are y'all running in yours? I'll mostly be riding in the warmer climates.
  7. Actually, it looks pretty simple. This link gets you to a tech site. At the bottom of the page is a link to enter free tech support. Then you can access a step by step method with pictures. http://www.venturers.org/Tech_Library/?action=article&cat_id=002009&id=193
  8. Thanks guys. After talking to a few people, I guess the consensus is that you need do nothing if changing only the mufflers. However, if you change both the header pipes and mufflers, you could have some issues, especially with a fuel injected bike. Oh boy, I'm answering my own threads now.
  9. Here's a sound clip of stock Road King mufflers on a RSV. http://www.venturers.org/Tech_Library/attachments/RSV_Stock_RK1.wav
  10. The website venturers.org has a step by step do it yourself method for re-packing the Bub mufflers in their tech section. Sorry don't have the link.
  11. Here is a sound clip of stock pipes that have been drilled out. I think they sound pretty good myself, JMHO. http://www.venturers.org/Tech_Library/attachments/Drilled1.mpg
  12. Will I need to re-jet an '05 RSV if I install a set Bub Sleeper slip-ons?
