what should I see when i ride NewFoundland
mother replied to motorcycle_1300's topic in Watering Hole
i would suggest taking to Argentia ferry to St Johns and do the loop back to Port aux Basques ferry. places to visit St Johns - look at staying at The Battery hotel with a harbourview - signal hill - see George street, most bars per capita than anywhere in Canada - many riding loops from this town , stay a few days and enjoy Terra Nova Park Bonavista - very scenic Twillingate- iceberg boat tour Rocky Harbour / Gross Morin Park. rent a cabin and stay a couple of days so you can do a ride north and have a place to come back to. Port aux Port, great scentic and riding loop lots of lighthouses from Port aux Basques down to Rose Blanche do not worry about gas as they are dotted along the highway in the larger towns. we always gassed up in the morning before heading out and if we were at half or 1/4 tank and seen a gas station we would stop. you are going to be amazed at freindliness of the people. cheers, Scott- 12 replies

well worth the money. easy to install, and even easier to do an oil change many oil filters work as snaggletooth has listed you do not have to take chin spoiler off, just reach under with oil filter wrench, spin it off and spin a new one on. cheers, Scott

Collector baffle rattle?
mother replied to Venturous Randy's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
lay bike on left side gently, preferebly on grass take a grinder with a cutting disc and i did three cuts, each side and along the back them i pried the metal tab open there was one piece of metal baffle that almost fell out and the other side i took the cutting disc to it and removed the other piece. then i pried the metal back to its original position took the bike over to a local welding shop, layed the bike gently on its side again and he stitched up the opening that i had made hope this helps cheers, Scott -
i would not have anything to do with a Metzeler again after having my rear tire rubber delaminate on me out on the highway with me and my wife on board. i was running 50 psi it was a new tire installed at a local dealer, we travelled to the east coast and with 3000 km on the new tire, my bike started to vibrate severly so i hit the brakes and pulled onto the shoulder quickly. about the size of half a football was ballooned out. fought with dealer and Metzeler, even sent them the section of tire. they said it was my fault for under inflation. i gave up after 6 months of phone calls and emails. then shortly after that a riding buddy on a Harley, we pulled off the highway for the night, next morning go to get on the road and his tire the rubber had delaminated also, thank god it did not happen the night before out on the highway with him and his wife on board. we dont want to see anything happen to you, so please take this into consideration. cheers, Scott

with the rings on the fork tube, lube the air rings with a bit of wd-40, let them sit for wd to soak in. then i used a pair of slip pliers and try to rotate the ring a little each way. like others have posted, you may have to tap on the ring with a wood drift and hammer as they are stubborn little things. once they start to move, the fork tube can be lowered in the triple tree and the rings go up. you will notice a circlip on the fork, this is where you will slide the ring back on to when re-assembling. cheers, Scott
