  1. an event that we do frequent has ride the plank, slalom competition, slow race etc. the organizers do a great job and a lot of fun. camping, beer if you like, live band. every event has different flavours so you have to experience and pick the ones you enjoy. we have also done some poker runs, some great and one we bailed after doing the first section. they were going way too fast through small towns, people and kids trying to cross the street and they went full throttle making absurd noise at outragious speeds. we never did that one again. there are many others that we have participated in that we enjoyed cheers, Scott
  2. operation number 3 done on wednesday. owww, kinda hurts friday had to go back to the hospital, they had a look said all is going okay even though it did not feel like it is okay. more heavy duty pain meds that curbed the pain somewhat still hurting, but getting a little better day by day. still lots of swelling. i asked doctor if someone hit me with a baseball bat. 4 different eye drops to instill 4 times a day. i am sitting up today, feeling a bit better and hope to get up and around a little.
  3. hang in there, we are thinking of you two more prayers going your way Scott and Sherry
  4. go in tomorrow for operation number three. still no sight in the right eye. doc says the retina have attached and she is happy with the progress. i really miss riding the bike, but i think of all the miles i have ridden with it and how many friends we have made. operation tomorrow is going to take around 5 hours doc says.
  5. glad you two teenagers had a good time. we have done ocracoke up through kittyhawk and it was a lovely ride.

  7. just got off the phone with Flyingfool/Jeff and he walked me through and found my problem. he is in Milwalkee and i am in Toronto Ontario, Canada. over the phone he had me check for power at specific points and low and behold, problem is the old glass fuse holder for the ignition circuit. i now have ignition. i have a new fuse block that i was going to install, well i guess now i am going to be doing the install and then i can put my bike back together. thank you so much Jeff for your knowledge and spending the time on the phone to help me to locate the problem. cheers, Scott
  8. thank you all for tips to look for why she no start. touch blue white wire to ground, solenoid makes and engine cranks over but no spark. i also do not hear the fuel pump clicking on. Dingy, thank you so much for an awesome article, i dove in and cleaned all contacts and same as yours, the start button contacts were the dirtiest. after doing this still no power to pull the starter solenoid in, did a jumper to roll the engine and still no spark. Flyingfool, i checked and have continuity from black to battery negative. i DO NOT have power from the Blue/white wire to ground. where do i go hunting now?
  9. more prayers coming her way. Scott and Sherry

  13. i picked up a 4 brush off ebay for 50 bucks delivered. it was off a 2006 and in great shape, looked almost new. any starter 1999 and up are 4 brush. let us know how you make out cheers, Scott
  14. and it even has lifetime map updates, lol i have picked up a couple of Garmin Nuvi and i am liking them more than the c550. they are a slim design , wider screen and it fits in your shirt pocket. it also has longitude and latitude if you break down you can give exact location or if you geocache you can get them off ebay for 75 to 100 bucks
  15. i wish i had a cardboard box and a plastic bag

  18. thank you Pete for the part number and it will be just be the short cable from the cruise to the carb open that i will buy. all the rest are in perfect shape cheers, Scott
  19. no picture as it is still on the bike, holding on with one little thread. it has the curved piece at the end going to the lower part of the carb and only one barrel on the end of the pull cable. this is the one i am looking for. the throttle return cable has two barrels on the end. this cable is fine on my bike. Trader says he has one on, but work involved in removing it from bike, so if you have one that would be great. cheers, Scott
  20. i need throttle cable (the one that pulls the carb open), anyone have a spare one for me? cheers, Scott
