  1. sounds like an interesting place to stop in next time we are down that way.
  2. fantastic news Gary.
  3. hi Stephen what connextor is on the other end? do you have a voltmeter? i have a few electronic stores close to me, one is my favorite and they sell different length patch cords with a variety of ends. i have a 3.5 90 degree i think it is 3 foot and has 2 RCA phono type jacks on the other end. Are you going to Hagens bike night this week/thursday night? cheers, Scott
  4. it needs more chrome. a chrome tire pump maybe a chrome horn and a chrome drink holder cheers, Scott:smile5:
  5. i am now running an Avon on the front and a Dunlop elite 3 on the rear and love it. i have over 10,000 on the pair, they track straight, quiet ride, and handle well in the corners, just back from Ashville and tail of the dragon. to get more info on Metzeler, go to the Search box and type in Metzeler and there you will find some more comments/failures on those tires. my wife and i survived a Metz tire failure. if you do buy those tires i would highly recommend you increase your life insurance..
  6. i had mine go with 3000 or so miles on it while out on the highway. i was lucky my wife and i did not go down. after too many emails and voice mails i finally got a call back from a guy with attitude. got the runaround, attempted to carry out what was requested, finally got a return call from another guy and got the run around again. i gave up. i also have another Metz story, my best friend on his Harley had one let go also. thank god someone was looking out for him and Gord and his wife did not go down either. i now run Avon front and Dunlop rear. my buddy swears by Dunlop. and yes we always kept the Metz at the website rated air pressures. cheers, Scott
  7. thank you so much for the updates. thankfully he is progressing. we are one large family in here and we are all checking frequently to hear how he is doing. we met your dad at the international meet in Kitchener and we know he is one heck of a guy and hope he will be back on his feet soon. hopefully all our prayers are also helping give him strength. Scott and Sherry
  8. hi Gerald well done.
  9. if you are coming through the USA around lake erie jump off the highway and take route 5 from Clevend to Fort Erie then cross into Canada and take the niagara parkway from Fort Erie up to the Falls. the Niagara parkway is a beautiful ride. when you are at the falls if continue up the niagara parkway through niagara on the lake that is also some scenic areas. cheers, Scott
  10. our prayers go out to you and your family. Scott and Sherry
  11. this is never nice to hear that one of our family has fallen. we dont bounce like we used to and thank goodness you are still with us. our prayers go out to you and hope that you have a speedy recovery. thank you Sarge for letting us know and keeping us informed. Scott and Sherry
  12. my wife has a flip up Nolan and loves it. i wish they made one big enough for me but i take a 5xl and only have two choices. i picked the Shoei and i am happy with it. both were expensive but worth it. cheers, Scott
  13. you were lucky to find the defect before something happened and you got to use the tire for a bit. i always checked my tire pressure and mine let go with just over 2,000 miles on it. i tried to contact Metzeler numerous times and finally got to talk to a human and got the runaround with lots of attitude from the guy, he was not interested. i called and emailed when i had some more information that he said i needed and never got any more response from them. i gave up.
  14. faster than a UPS truck, not.
  15. remember that this is not an accurate guage on these bikes, treat them as an indicator. my 86 shows on the voltmeter, 14 or so on the guage while driving. when you are standing still i get a reading of 12 with the engine idling. when you are standing still and i apply the brakes which also activates the anti dive relays on both forks, my voltmeter reads 10. if you have a digital multimeter, check using it to see how it compares to the indicator on the dash of your bike. cheers, Scott
  16. i agree with Randy as i have the same setup and love it. avon on front and e3 on the back. i am just back from Ashville meet and i have about 4 or 5 thousand miles on the tires so far, it handles awesome, rides straight as an arrow, cornering is awesome and are a quiet running tire. two thumbs up for sure. when it comes time to replace the tires i will put the same on the bike. cheers, Scott
  17. well after all the various sideroads and extended tours, we had to say our goodbyes for now to Bob and Becky last night after dinner. some of the Mother tours were quite entertaining. it was nice to meet a Venturerider member on our way home. we met Ryder at the start of the Dragon and hope that he joins us in the many rides and events that we do.
  18. well we finally made it home. got in around noon today. we had an awesome time. cheers, Scott
  19. a lot of first gens were down at Ashville, then taking adventurous roads on the way home. bongobob and i did tail of the dragon today, i wish those noisy v twins would get out of our way or pull over. it was okay, but the 1Rooster route 80 was better i thought. we met up with a fairly new 83 venture owner, he paid 400 bucks and only put a battery in it and has been riding it for a year and a half. i hope we see him on the site. cheers, Scott:canada:
  20. hey, where did everyone go? today is the 10th and we still want to ride. Bongobob and Mother with their spouses did the 1Rooster run up I-80, what a road, some 1st gear turns then back up to 4th then back down to 1st and so on. eeee haw. we went up to mount mitchell today and had lunch up top, tallest mountain around here at 6,500 feet or so. we then came back down I-80 (eeehaw again) and went to a town called Marion to check it out. back at the hotel now having a swim and a cold liquid beverage, still no bikes in the parking lot. i guess we will have to start heading home tomorrow, first stop will be Tail of the Dragon and then head north. cheers, Scott
  21. thank you again Rooster, what an awesome time, great food. cheers, Scott and Sherry
  22. i almost nailed a big black bear on the way down the Blue Ridge Parkway yesterday. we were coming around a corner and he was running right across in front of me. i slammed on the brakes and so did Bongobob who was riding behind me as the beast ran across. my heart was pounding. also seen a doe off to the side further down the road. i did get a possum, he was not fast enough to beat the wrath of a first gen. cheers, Scott
  23. hi Lowell we are gonna miss you buddy, but you have to take care of yourself. lots more rides coming up. your health comes first. cheers, Scott
  24. my bike did that to me a few times last year and every time Ohhh Sherry asked me why i did that, i just told her the bike was tired. so i guess scamper was tired too. glad you two are okay. cheers, Scott
  25. we are at the top of the Blue Ridge parkway, going to check out the skyline caverns tomorrow morning and start touing down the parkway after that. we took route 219 down from Bongobobs, what a beautiful schenic ride. looking forward to seeing members we have already met and meeting lots of new ones. ride safe and see you all there. cheers, Scott and Sherry
