  1. i have been using one for the past 4 years and it works. there are times when you are riding north and the sun is behind you and there is the glare again. but for most riding situations i like it.

    Where ?

    the "Mother" thread? WHERE
  3. i hope your wife heals up quickly. years ago someone warned me that: the natural position of a motorcycle is laying down.
  4. 15 years married, how did she put up with you for so long. that is one fine pumpkin patch you found. now, can we keep a secret!
  5. skunk be gone is the only stuff that really works. over the years our dogs have found the black kitty with the white racing stripe more than once. i even diluted a little and steam cleaned the chesterfield with it. on one occation where the dog came in the house yelping and jumped on the chesterfield and rubbed his face all over it.
  6. Gary, you didnt have to do that just for me:rotfl:, but thank you:thumbsup2:
  7. but the odometer counts differently. 100 kilometers equals 60 miles. can one of our USA members check something for me. unscrew the speedo cable, rotate the front tire and count how many times the speedo gear turns for one rotation of the front tire. thanks
  8. does anyone know about the difference in gearing between a kph vs mph speedometer. i have a kilometers per hour unit that the odometer went belly up and Bongobob was kind enough to give me a unit that is miles per hour. the gears inside both units look identicle, is the front wheel gearing different or is the gearing in the speedos different?
  9. congrats on the job well done. if you are any good with decorating trees. come on over. my wife says i just throught the tinsle on. cheers

  14. hope all heals well. at least you will be back in good shape for next years riding season. see you in the new year.
  15. now when or if we get snow, Gary has 13 hp and is gonna fire it over the border. we like to share.
  16. anyone know the legallity of running strobe along with headlight? i have ordered an LED super bright 6 inch long light and i will test to see how visible it is in the daytime. yammer, what time of the day were your accidents, mine was 4pm daylight and she said she did not see me. headlight and two 50 watt driving lights were on.
  17. i wanted to see what you people feel makes your bike more visible and you have some great things you do. i was dissapointed to hear that our police/ambulance/fire dept lights are not as visible and respected as they would like. i am shocked. years ago, motorcycles were the only vehicle with lights on while running, and i felt that we did stand out. now with all vehicles using daytime running lights i feel that the motorcycle is not noticed now. using vests are a great idea and i have seen a lot more riders wearing them these days. i have seen the pink chaps and they have a wow to them, along with the pink helmet which also stands out. there was the post from muffinman about using a strobe. is this visible in the daytime? are there other lights, like neon, flurescent, LEDs, halo lighting, that somebody has tried.
  18. our prayers go out to your son.
  19. Hey Sue nice bike you picked up congrats on the licence sounds like you did a super job on riding it like you stole it. hope the knee heals well for you. dont forget to get those passports over the winter while healing, cause i have some nice roads to take you on over here. now for you Kevin remember , you have to post pics. i know it is not going to be a pretty site seeing you with the nurses outfit on.
  20. after reading yet another post on someone killed by a cage making a left in front of a motorcycle, is there anything that we can do to our bikes to make us more visible. my bike has the 55 watt silverstar headlight, also two 50 watt foglights and the lady that pulled out in front of me said " I DID NOT SEE YOU ". i now also run a couple of bright blue LED lights on the front of my bike under the front cowl to try and make myself more visible. been running them for two years now and so far so good. i have seen a lot of new cars with Halo lights and they do catch my eye. (where can you buy them? i want to add a set.) lets see if any of you out there have tried something that you feel makes you more visible while riding. ride safe
  21. the left exhaust pipe was rattling, so i went on ebay and picked up a brand new pair for 10 bucks plus delivery. i made a couple of simple brackets and voila. they are a little louder when on the juice, but the boss has not complained about being too loud while cruising. check with anyone you know with a Harley and they probably have a pair in their garage. after i picked mine up from ebay and went riding with three of my cousins who ride Harleys, they all had a new pair in their garage that they said i could have. they have tried to sell them for 50 bucks or so.
  22. god bless this rider and our heart goes out to the family at this time.
