  1. A few years back a few riders removed the stock opener and replaced them with a gas strut like used in car trunks, hoods, hatchbacks. I saw one and it was a nice mod. I still have the orignal though as its still good.
  2. When are you gonna convert a 1st gen to a trike! Seems with all the bad luck that might be a good idea!
  3. Seems I remember he was going to be gone for a bit???
  4. Exactly right! As far as I'm concerned the only better scenery (maybe) in North America than that ride is Banff/Canada1. There are few words for the ride from Ouray to Silverton or vise-versa. You wont be sorry. PM me if you would like a few routes in the area. I've got several.
  5. Absolutely...I've learned more about this bike here in 3 years than I would have in 15 w/o it. Thanks Freebird!
  6. We got ours. Note to self...The navigator put coffee in hers and three hours later burnt her mouth! Great mugs!
  7. I got 6K on the rear and 9K on the front. E3s are getting 12K and ?? on front????
  8. Thanks Goose. Once again, you da' man.
  9. Good thing we have this "Global Warming", otherwise we might have snow in July!
  10. I agree. THe best road in AR. About 10 couples of us will be down there next week....I CANT WAIT!
  11. I own a 6 x10 and it will haul two full dressers. You should have plenty of room!
  12. I thought I was dying! Wound up in the fetal position.
  13. On your question, it might be the choke isn't adjusted correctly? Normally a sync will do it, if not it probably is a warranty issue.
  14. That's what I do!
  15. If its sunny, I'll ride in the 30s, but it has to be really nice and sunny and no wind. Otherwise, 40 or so.
  16. You do realize that water freezes at 32????????? Now for my tribute to Boomer Tommy - Who stays by the fire when its 32 outside! Hope ok to borrow your tag!
  17. Funny!
  18. Is there a way we can tag these posts with sn__ in them. That way the rest of us can avoid them like the plague?
  19. Mine will hit the 26K mark this fall trip upcoming. I too would like to do the valve clearance check myself, but 1. I've never done it and would want adult supervision, and 2. I don't want to worry about the warranty either. So, I'll probably check with a couple of dealers and get bids on doing the work. My local dealer is OK, but never overly helpful. I bought the bike in AR, so a dealer is a dealer up here!
  20. FWIW I tried to split the difference between the speedo and odo. I finally decided I'd rather have the speedo right. I believe I would up with it set at -7.5.
  21. What an old junker! Seriously, thats a nice ride. I bet you get people coming up to asking if its new.
  22. I have one too. Works great!
  23. YOur dealer is full of horse_____! The bike should run true. TWo things make sure using a progressive pump to have the same air pressure in both forks. If that is the case, your fork bolt may be too loose. There are articles about that here, but the gist of it is if the front wheel is off the ground and you push the fork lightly to the side it should just bounce lightly and stop. If it doesn't, it too loose. That is warranty issue for a new bike.
  24. Hey, while we were riding in CO I was passed on some twisties by a Boss Hoss. I was thinking, "I'll probably see him on a hillside later". Got to the next mountain pass pull off and the bike was sitting there. About 10 mins later this lady walks up to it and proceeds to ride it away. I decided she was more man than I am!
  25. Sorry, meant out pull.
