I wanted to personalize our riding jackets & I came across a FANTASTIC source for custom patches & such http://arizonabikerleathers.com/ I actually found them on EBay http://myworld.ebay.com/arizonabikerleathers?_trksid=p2047675.l2559 The place is owned by George & Ann Ziegler. They made my custom name patch for $4.99 SHIPPED!! I had my choice of background color, border thread color, as well as Letter forn & thread color. Made same day & shipped same day! The glue is right to the edge & holds the patch SOLID I just set the iron to max, used a thin towel to cover. Preheated the material, placed the patch covered it with the towel 8 seconds repeat & let cool before touching. Here's a few pix of our jackets: Highly recommended

Yeah they seem to move quick. The one I got was for a RSV but it fit on my 1st gen. I think they are universal. Here's the seller: http://myworld.ebay.com/ldavis1231?_trksid=p2047675.l2559

Just wanted to share this link & seller with the forum. I just picked up a pair of Gel cushions for my 1st Gen from this guy. http://myworld.ebay.com/ldavis1231?_trksid=p2047675.l2559 Oh is my butt happy! This guy shipped them out next day. The usually go for $99.50 but he had them on sale for $84.58. When I leave feedback I'm going to mention Ventur Riders to him so maybe he would extend the sale to anyone from here as well.

Yeah the HH pads cost me $31 a rotor at the Yamaha dealer (which was on par with Ebay prices) Normally to me brakes are brakes but I was very impressed with the HH. You sound like me, those days are over for me too, I guess that come with age & the fear of falling. (old bones take a long time to heal lol ) but bear this in mind, the $90 in HH pads will feel very cheap when "pucker time" rears it ugly head.

Larry, I'm basically new to the Venture Riders. I read about your situation. I hope your recovery is quick. It will feel impossible at times but you'll be back on the road before you know it! Keep the faith brother.

Twigg, do you have EBC HH pads up front? I just cleaned my calipers & rotors & slapped on a fresh set of HH pads on my 84. OMG what a difference. The brake are more responsive & I stop MUCH quicker than with the organic pads.

That would explain the dive issue. My brakes are still linked, When I use only my front hand brake, she does dive a bit. I can only imagine if you are using both rotors up front she would dive harder. It was suggested I use 7wt oil i the forks. I haven't tried it, but I might give it a shot when I do rebuild the forks.

Yeah, I don't bottom out either. I wonder would lighter oil or 1/4 less preload be better?

I'm wondering now if my stiff ride is due to 15 wt oil & the 1" preload...

Comparing my 84 VR to my 81 Honda CB750 the VR feels harsher than the Honda. That's why I installed progressives. It's not as smooth or soft, actually its a bit bumpy when you hit potholes. It kinda feels like a car with airshocks. When I brake, even hard I get no massive dive. Actually its quite smooth. Does this happen when you use both the hand & footbrake? Is it possible that you may only be stopping with your front brakes? The bottoming out can it be the fairing making noise? In comparison to all my other bikes, I expected the VR to ride like an old time Cadillac (soft & squishy) But it actually rides harsher like an old 60's Camaro with stiff suspension

She's still upstairs in the dark! I feel bad for her. She hasn't even come down for dinner. -

Helen got up today with one of her migrains today. It's reaching our ETD & she is still upstairs in the dark. So it looks like we won't be making it! -

Margaret, if it turns out to be (which it looks like) raining all day, what is the agenda? For us who have never been there before, is there outdoor sheltered areas in Deadwood. I don't think we can sit in the restaurant all day -
BTW Freebird, what would be the numbers required for reorder on these items?

I got the new front Kenda Kruz mounted back from the dealer. Put the wheel back on ( I also cleaned & replaced the EBC HH brake pads) Took it for a quick ride (55 mph tops). Nice riding, for $70 I can't complain. The brakes however well....I can't even describe how great it stops. Funny what new pads & degunking the calipers will do for stopping!

The patches are sweet. They iron on and look great. Thanx Freebird Sent from my Huawei U8800-51 using Tapatalk 2

I've noticed that there are some items in the VR Store that are out of stock to be reordered if enough interest. Don was kind enough to scare up a couple of patches for me (which I have proudly put on our jackets) but, I also want Domed decals and a few more patches for our other riding jackets. I'm sure there are others who are interested as well. ESPECIALLY THE NEW MEMBERS! So... I have attached a poll to let Freebird know if there is sufficient interest to reorder more! VentureRider Domed Decals VentureRider Guardian Bells Small VentureRider Patches C'mon guys, I'm sure you've gotten new jackets or helmets. SHOW YOUR Venture Riders PRIDE!

When I replaced my slave cylinder, I bled my clutch on my 84 by 1. opening the bleeder (NOT TOUCHING THE CLUTCH HANDLE) and let gravity slowly draw the air bubbles out. (BECAUSE MY SLAVE WAS TOTALLY EMPTY) THEN 2.When the fluid coming out of the bleeder had no bubbles, I closed the bleeder pumped the clutch then while holding the handle down I cracked the bleeder let some air/fluid out THEN closed the bleeder (HOLDING THE CLUTCH IN UNTIL THE BLEEDER WAS CLOSED) Repeat as needed. It's best as a 2 person job. Since your clutch is in you can do step 2 only.
