  1. Darn, sorry to hear the D'Rose Inn changed hands. We enjoyed our stay there.
  2. Hey Leo, We did the Hill Country about 6 or 7 years ago. The FM (farm to market) roads look like loose gravel but we found them solid. I was told that the tar shrinks and retreats in the winter. You dont see what is binding the "chips" but when the roads heat up in summer, the tar rises to the surface and can make the roads slippery. We were there in late Dec/Jan. All good advice above. Coopers is amazing, Willow city loop was fun but no blue bonnets when we went. We were told not to stop on the roadside in the loop as the local residents don't enjoy the extra traffic. We stayed at the D Rose Inn in Leaky, its a motorcycle resort. And look out for the small deer, especially at sunset. Have a great ride! Tom
  3. Hey Carl, Missed it yesterday. Hope you had a good one. T and T
  4. Congrats, grand babies are awesome.
  5. Thanks Jay, Larry, hope the recovery goes well! I am looking forward to our next conversation! Very cool. Tom
  6. Hope everything works out. You girls are very cool to do this. Tom
  7. I have but I have a windows 8 system. Everything is slow.
  8. Yes, sincerely, to all that have served. Thank you
  9. We did about 70 miles in 4 deg. c yesterday. The knee blockers work great. We were not too cold but enjoyed a hot coffee when we got home.
  10. Darn, I was hoping it would be good for short highway stints in the winter. Otherwise I will just take my van...
  11. Wow, glad you're OK.
  12. Bob, can you get any more lights on your bike. It can be seen for the space station already...
  13. My two buddies ice race in Manitoba. You put screws inside out in the tires. Amazing traction but I wouldn't want to go down and have someone ride over me. Talk about being ventilated...
  14. It looks great. Glad the shipping damage was minor.
  15. What's a snowblower? My shovels are oil less... I will try to ride until there is snow and ice on the road. Gonna try anyway...
  16. 18 Hours ! where'd ya get 4 ? Cow town in the winter, NO THANKS, I'd break my other ankle on frozen cow patties My bad, I should have looked on a map. And cow patties aren't slippery when they are frozen. They make great pucks. I grew up in a disadvantaged neighborhood. We had to use German Shepard patties for pucks.... And we actually had moccasins to wear. Very slippery, but great for bumper shining.
  17. We keep ours refrigerated but I'm not sure it is needed. I'm in Winnipeg and I can't find apple cider anywhere!! My question is does anyone know of Canadian chains that carry this? Maybe I can special order.
  18. Yep, every time I see one of these "indivduals", I just assume my insurance is going up. I pay too much right now. And I have full merits...
  19. And I see our motorcycle insurance going up... Its already very high here.
  20. We'll be going there often, for a visit. Who knows, we may just move there too. We're getting tired of these northern winters anyway. Northern winters? Come up to Winnipeg and visit us this winter. You will have to put chains on the trike. Sorry about the distance to the grandson but 4 hours aren't that bad. My neighbor's grandkids are 8 to 9 hours away and they do travel a lot.
  21. I'd go with a water cooled cross country Victory look...
  22. That like to go Oui Oui in public...
  23. Hi Dan, Hope everything goes well. Tom
  24. I used to drain the carbs but now just shut off the fuel supply and run the carbs dry. It seems to work for me. I am also using Startron instead of Seafoam as I am told it has enzymes that actively remove any deposits. It also states that it is good for storing up to 2 years. I have just been leaving it on the kick stand. No problems with the wheel bearings.
