  1. Will do
  2. Thanks, I may take you up on that, even to get together for a cup of coffee. Actually, I am planing on tenting. A patch of grass in a back yard can work too.
  3. Thanks, will do.
  4. Hi Brad, I'm heading along the northern states to make time and coming back up to Canada??? just before the maritimes. Still have to look at the maps, campgrounds, BB's etc. I am solo on my way out there. Yes, Cabot Trail, Confederation bridge, Newfoundland etc. Lots of places to ride and see. My Dad's family comes from Cape Briton so it will be nice to see the some spots, maybe find a Kallee (if that's the way to spell it) or 2. Baddeck, Margery Valley (more spelling problems)... lots of places. I think there is a big rally in Nova Scotia at the end of the month. Not sure as I'm by myself but may do that too. Terry meets me in Halifax and we will ride back through Canada to the international. Not sure after that. We'll see which way the wind blows me. Hope to see you at the international but we're going to do southern Ontario also. If anyone can suggest some good roads, campgrounds etc. please let me know. Tom
  5. Yep, lookin' forward to it.
  6. Hi Don, We'll have to do a ride at the international. This is our 1st in a few years!
  7. I'm putting the final touches and should leave in a few days. First destination is Nova Scotia and the maritimes and then the international rally. If anyone is heading the same direction and needs company, let me know. We can meet up somewhere. I am thinking of going along the northern states for the first part. Still have to check out the maps. At least I know which direction to head in! Tom
  8. Wow! Yes, it looks like it made the rest slow down a bit.
  9. Hey, hope for a speed recovery! Tom and Terry
  10. Thoughts and condolences to Brad and family.
  11. Hey Brad, Yes, I'm looking forward to it. Will let you know when I'm in your area. Tom
  12. Thanks Rick, Yes, sometimes ya just get lucky.
  13. I still have the red 84 venture. It has approximately 160,000 Km's and will probably go another 160 K before any serous problems but my wife and I want to do the east coast this summer including the international rally. I'm gonna crank some people up but I don't want to be sitting in a tent somewhere looking for parts on ebay. Yea, I know it won't but... The 2000 is current and "just in case of problems", I should be able to locate parts a lot easier. I still really like the 84!! Dang it. I'm getting used to the 2000. And... I really like red bikes! I lucked out with the trailer. The colour matches the lower saddle bag paint. I still have to wire it up and register but I'm looking forward to a good trip this summer!
  14. The picture is of my new (used) trailer. Gettin' ready to ride!
  15. Nice lookin' scoot
  16. E3's on my 84 were great. I have E3's on my second gen , will see how long they last.
  17. Hi, I need to replace my 2000 venture windshield and was hoping to ask some questions on the F4. I normally like to be able to see over the top of the shield in the rain. I bought the bike last fall, still have my 84, first rain I almost had an accident. Light rain, 4 lane highway, left lane, highway turning into the setting sun, I couldn't see a thing. I was lucky to be able to pull over to the shoulder without getting pinged. The last person said he was having trouble seeing in the rain. Is there a difference between shields or is it the plexus he was using? I found the difference between my 84 shield and the 2000 OEM shield is the 2000 shield allows water to collect on the inside of the shield, I guess because it does not have the top curve that the 84 shield has. Again, I have heard some conflicting reports and it looks like this shield does not have the top curve. I have also heard that bugs come through the vent when open, has anyone been able to install some kind of screen on this or is it not something to worry about? Yes, I know bugs are protein. How hard is it to cut the shield down if I feel I need to be able to see above the shield? Lastly, clutch whine, I have read that some people have lessened the noise from clutch whine by changing to different windshields. Has anyone experienced this with the F4? These are very cool shields and I like a lot of the features. I just want know more before I order. I live in Canada and shipping and duty costs can add up. For the ones that bought these shields recently, how do you find them now? Thanks very much, Tom
  18. Thanks, Yes, I looked at those. There is a dealer in Winnipeg. I just liked style and width etc. of the other one.
  19. Hey Gary, Thanks,I'll call tomorrow.
  20. Hey Gary, Thanks, I'l call tomorrow as it is kind of late tonight. You guys are an hour behind.
  21. Thanks but its the width more then the length I am looking at. I kinda want my trailer, either the same width or narrower then my bike.
  22. Thanks Rick, I was thinking of a fibreglass trailer (or camper). I'm looking at a narrow trailer and the lady told me it was 39 inches total width which sounds good too.
  23. Yea, I agree Bob, I need one to get there first.
  24. Hi all, I am currently looking an extended trip to eastern North America this summer and need either a pull behind or camper trailer. Still don't know which way to go but I found a cargo trailer on Ebay that looks good and I was hoping someone could give me some feedback on these trailers. It is a Liberty GL Motorcycle Trailer from America's best trailers. The link is below. Does anyone have this trailer or have had dealings with the company? Thanks, Tom http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fiberglass-Motorcycle-Trailers-Tow-Pull-Cargo-Behind-Harley-Goldwing-Bike-Etc-/170832291220?pt=Motorcycles_Parts_Accessories&hash=item27c665e594&vxp=mtr
