  1. Wow, and I thought yours were quiet after hearing some bikes after the zz concert! Cool
  2. Craig and i put in some supports for the broken end tabs. I am going to try taking to a yamie dealer mechanic as i have no idea what is normal on this bike. If this gives the 1st genners an opening, i can't argue too much... As i write this i am having a carbonated beverage looking out on louisbourg harbour and that's cool. Take care, Hey, i don't see too many pontoon boats out there?
  3. Thanks but I'm not in Winnipeg now and this is a 2000 second generation venture.
  4. Thanks Craig, I am now shimming the rubber mounts on my handle bars as the whole front fairing is starting to bounce on rough roads. I am also going to try to get the bike into a dealership mechanic as it is starting to wear me down. Hey, we will see you in a few weeks! Tom
  5. Hi Jay, Thanks for the advice. I pulled the front of the fairing off but i cant get at the 2 nuts i can see. Everything seems tight when i tried to move the inner fairing. I picked up some plastic applicators. They are tapered and have some flex and i was able to push them between the rubber mount and the handle bars. It seems better for now. I'm in a windy campground with limited tools so that may be the best i can do. I am also going to try get a mechanic at a local dealership to look at it as... It is really starting to get to me.... I have no idea what is normal or abnormal with these 2nd gens. Tom
  6. It looks like my rubber mounts on my handle bars supporting my fairing is toast. The whole fairing and windshield has started moving too much on rough roads. I think this may have been causing my windshield problems. As i am on the road i need a road fix for these things. Yesterday i cut some tie wraps and pushed them between the handle bars to use as spacers. This seems to help but here is my question. Is this a good thing to do or am i creating more damage? I am going to try to find a better spacer that i can slip around the whole handle bar. What do others do for this? Thanks, Tom
  7. Well, we made Cape Briton. I think i have uploaded a picture of the fortress of Louisbourg. The gravesite pictures are on another camara.i will have it at the rally.
  8. No pics yet, it takes about 5 minutes to fire the playbook up. By that time its too late. I will try the silicone first. Actually it is just a grave site. I dont think we can get up to cape briton for a while. A weather system has come in. Harley... Awwwww.
  9. Far right outer windshield fairing windshield bolt hole cracked on top of the hole but the bolts keep loosening up. I picked up some clear silicone and tightened the bolts with this on the threads. I will check tomorrow night to see if the bolts loosen up again. The whole upper fairing can bounce a bit on bad roads. I understood this was normal but how do you tell when the rubber spacers need to be changed and is it easy to change: My rear shock is now groaning so it doesnt look good for that. I checked the post on that but no tools etc. To add oil no w. But the roads are great. We had fresh lobster in peggys cove for supper. I want to hunt down dealers in halifax tomorrow. I want to get that progressive suspension pump you have. Later
  10. Looks nice. I like the lowers.
  11. Ok, good luck with that the plastic. I was going to tell you about plastic welding last night but maybe try the other methods first the other guys are more knowledgeable on this than me. I think we are going to try to find a camp spot in cape Briton for the weekend and will try to ride. It then but will see on the weather and.... Plastic welding makes plastic more brittle but i have had to do most of my trunk bottom sinking aluminum screen in the plastic for support. Take care, Tom
  12. Well, i made it to halifax. Will meet the better half when she gets off the plane tomorrow. Great day but i have to say that after Pennsylvania, and northern states the ride was not as much fun. You tend to get used to the twisties... I am supposed to have wyfi at the campsite but its not great. I have to sit at the campsite office to get a signal. Later...
  13. Hey Don, Looking forward to it! Ride safe.
  14. Hey Rick, We were thinking of camping at the dealership. Last time we talked you were thinking the same thing. No showers may become a problem. Do you guys want to split a campground site?
  15. ThanksJay, i was thinking the same thing. The trailer pulls very good with less tire air but i do want to change them our. I was thinking of ordering through Pioneer.
  16. Yes, I don't want to leave the better half waiting at the airport We'll it hasn't taken any more flips into the ditch. The air shocks have finally gave up and I have try to lower trailer tire pressure as it is starting to act up a bit. I am not in any place long enough to order and swap out the shocks. I should have bought the ones you had in storage. And by the way, thanks for everything. You have no idea how much I appreciate it. See you in NY. Tom
  17. QUOTE=cecdoo;696369]How far north did ya make it today? Are ya going to make Halifax by wed?? Just curious. Stay safe and enjoy the sights. Craig Hi Craig, I made it to Pittsfield Maine. It seemed like a long day and when I hit a thunderboomer I called it a day. I am supposed d to be approximately 8 hours from Halifax but we will see. Mix of all kinds of roads today. Still lots of fun! Tom
  18. Hit a thunderstorm and jammed out into a motel tonight. Thanks Friesman, will do.
  19. Thanks Buddy, That makes sense.
  20. So... I'm in a KOA in kopeke NY. It's karaoke night. Hmm. I left Winnipeg last Monday and have had my share of issues and have gained a large respect for the power of this site. Our members are awesome! Thank you Jay and Craig and families! I am on my way to Nova Scotia in 2 days to meet my better half. We are going to ride through the Canadian Maritimes and then to the international Maybe the tail of the dragon after. Depending on the weather. I left Craig this morning, became hypnotized by a winding road! And this is where it dropped me off Hey, I come from the land of right angles. It happens. I now have to push to Halifax. Now it's an Eagles duet at karaoke. Hmmm. That's it for now, I can't keep arguing with my playbook. It's winning.... Tom
  21. My version, I am having problem with my fairing plastic. Mostly my fault. Craig offers his garage space and tools. He spends most of Saturday and Sundays morning with me and “we“ were able to fair the problem... All far so good. He and his family welcome me awesome!! Thank you Craig And family. Your hospitality and welcome mean a ton to me! Which brings me to ragtop69gs. He found out that I was traveling through his area and did the same thing! Jay and family, wow, you have to understand how much I appreciate the welcome and hospitality! Now is someone can tell me how to stop my playbook from trying to correct my spelling mistakes into something completely different... Ahhhhh! Please read what you think I am saying. Craig, good idea I am going to try to start a post on my progress. Tom:canada:
  22. Hi Craig and I fixed the problem... We think. Check out the pictures. We sunk screen on the plastic with abs welding rods. It seems to work. We made braces and everything seems solid now
