Post Retirement September Trip To Mt. Rushmore
tomephil replied to bongobobny's topic in Watering Hole
Have a great Trip bob! Say hi to the west Bloomfield crowd for us. Tom -
Oh No! Not "the cities"!

Glad you didn't have to push. Great meeting you. I think some genetic engineering can produce a mute rooster. I also found that if you ignored him for about an hour the alarm clock's batteries run down. Of course you miss some of the early morning workshop coffee discussion. Tom

Way to go Bob! Enjoy. And get that trike fixed.

Yes, its kind of cool. We rolled in about 4pm and the tide was out. We put out tent just above where the Welcome button is on the web space. It took us about 20 minutes to get to the water's edge as the tide was out. About 2am I could hear water lapping and the water had moved to a few feet of out tent. It was back out in the morning when we woke up. I was told it happens twice per 24 hours but we didn't actually get a chance to see it as we were rolling out in the morning. I will definitely go back. Oh yea, some very nice twisties getting there!

This is a bit late but we found a great campsite this summer in Nova Scotia on the Bay of Fundy. The campsite is run by the local town and you can camp right at the water's edge. I think this is close to where the highest tidal change was recorded. It goes from a few feet from your tent to up to a 1/4 mile away. If you are still doing some camping this summer check it out. http://oldshipyardbeachcampground.com

Well... I still like 2 wheels but, it's a definite option in the future. It scares the stink out of you when you first get on it. I kept trying to put my foot down thinking it was going to fall.

Yes, it was Big Bob's. He let me take it for a test ride... I have to change my opinions of these machines. I think I had a big grin on my face when I got back. Its not a bike or a car but something completely different. You gotta remember that you're on 3, not 2 wheels.

Terry and I made it home a few hours ago. We had a great time!

I will have my trac phone. I think you still have the number if you need. Tom

This sounds crazy but the momentary passenger talk button was stuck in a pushed in condition and I was having problems with my radio. When I pulled it out, problem was solved. This isn't a button that is not checked all the time. Hope you find the gremlin.

I have just seen a thread of someone who mounted it on the front of the fairing. It looked like he made a bracket that fit the passing lamp bar. I just mounted mine beside my right foot but I think if you want to get someone's attention who is in front of you, the front of the bike may be better. I think the thread is about a week old.
