  1. Fantastic!
  2. Hope you had a great birthday! T and T
  3. Yes, that would have been an idea Bubber. Take care, gonna miss you at PIP this year. Tom
  4. Hi, I went through the company below. http://www.yssusa.com/products_yss.html They use nitrogen, the spring and rebound is manually adjusted. The rebound looks easy to get at but it looks like you will have to take the shock to adjust the spring pressure. I am setting it up for 2 up pulling a trailer. I did this with my easy to adjust oem shock. I am told that the oem shocks leak from the o ring. I may be missing something but if the air bladder is completely separate from the charge of oil, I don't see how adding oil to the air bladder will make it better, but again, I probably am missing something. Good luck with this! Tom
  5. They are amazing! Wish we could make it!
  6. Hey, I hear the new ventures have an upgraded cassette deck...
  7. I am told that the yamaha shocks leak from the o ring. Some shock just give up the ghost and dump a lot of oil, some develop a slow leak and either start showing drops of oil or just get get oily on the bottom bolt area of the shock. The air chamber may still hold a charge and not leak but the air pressure will eventually push all the oil out. The oem shock isn't recommended as it is known to fail. The 3 replacement shocks I know about are the Works, Hagon and YSS. I think the Works was the most expensive but that didn't matter as both Works and Hagon have delivery dates of 3 to 6 weeks for the overrated shocks(riding season). I ride 2 up and pull a trailer with hitch weight so I need an overrated shock. I didn't check Canadian sources as I have found that it is usually cheaper and more important, faster, to order and ship in the states. I had it shipped to a postal service in Pembina ND. I pay the duty when I take it over the border. I am about 1 1/5 hour from the border. A lot of members have Works or Hagon shocks but not many have the YSS. I rode 2 up today and so far so good. Hope this helps. Tom
  8. A few weeks ago I noticed the bottom of my rear shock was wet. No puddle on floor but needed a new shock. A Works or Hagon overrated shock would take at least 3 to 6 weeks with an emphesis on 6 weeks so I contacted YSS. They took my total weights and I had a shock in about a1 1/2 weeks. Had it installed last night. So far I find a big difference gut riding 2 up today so will see. Tried uploading a picture but my new and improved windows 8 computer doesn't want me to . Aaaaaa!
  9. Congratulations! Does that mean more riding time?
  10. The north side of lake Superior is great riding. Lots of up an down and great views! you should have a blast. If you go to the south side, do Copper Harbor and if I remember, just before Marquette there is a campground called "gitchgumie"?. Real cool place
  11. Hey Don, Let us know if and when you are through Winnipeg. T and T
  12. Cool, I'll see if I can find one for my province.
  13. Yea, still plastic welding the cowling and I still feel these windshields are too heavy and big for these bikes. I have a shorter one, will see how it works. Yep, we are planing on attending. Looks like my rear shock is going so I am trying to find a replacement in time. But I do like red bikes... Looking forward to seeing you guys! Tom
  14. The person from clearview called me on a previous matter and told me to use isopropyl alcohol.I could find no reference to this on their website. It looks to be off now.
  15. Hi, I have installed a clearview windshield and when I took the plastic wrapping off the glue stayed behind the shield. Basically the top inside 1/2 of the shield was covered in this glue, (right where I look). I have tried for a few hours to get this off and I now have a 1/3rd cleaned. Has anyone had better luck and if so, what did you use. I have tried the supplied cleaner, tried paint thinner and Crisco oil and extra virgin olive oil. Is there something better to use? Tom
  16. Hey, You guys have a great time! Tom
  17. I agree Squid!
  18. Thanks for doing this. I will take 2 and pick up at the international. Thanks very much. Tom
  19. Hey Sarge... You in? Tom:canada:
  20. Sorry Bob, Too far away for a day trip. Tom
  21. Me too Squid, I am brewing it in the back of my mind also. Don was all the above but to me, the thing that stands above the rest was this. Its hard to put into words but you had a better day after spending time with him. If that makes sense. What I say about my father in law is that if you look up the word "gentleman" in a dictionary, my father in law's picture is beside the word. Don's picture is there too. I just don't know how to categorize it. Lets see what everyone comes up with. Tom
  22. Man, I just don't know what to say. Terry and I are going to miss Don very much. This is going to be tough to process. Someone like this doesn't come by too often. I guess we should be glad to have spent time and known him. Big hugs to the Texas crew and his family. T&T
  23. Yes, last year riding with Jay and Jeanie. I was able to restart without losing too much speed. No, not my first choice of things to do... I use the kill switch just about every time I shut the engine down.
  24. I'll tell my snow shovels that it is spring. They will be pleased...
  25. Will do. Maybe brunch sat. morning. I want to hit some music and bike shops. I'll pm you.
