I haven't been over here in a while and I'm not sure if any of these guys were members but we had a tragic event last week with members of the UK Venture club who were over in Italy riding with what was the European Venture club that evolved into the Motorcycle Touring Club of Europe, MTCE. The easiest way to tell is to check the antenna's. The 99 model was the only version to have antenna's that needed a strong hand or a wrench to loosen them prior to folding. From 2000 on they all came with a base that just lifts up easily to fold flat. The only easy way to uprgade also meant changing the coax cable as well as they were a completely different connection to the antenna base. You might also look under the trunk to see if it has the rubber bushings that were retrofitted from 2000 on . Most 99's got them done as a service bulletin but not all.

I have 82,000 on the 2000 RSV and just about to hit 90,000 on the 2003 RSV. Must be time to change the oil on both I guess!

I have a 2003 Venture with 86,500 on it and a 2000 Venture with 83,000 on it. The one you're looking at is low mileage for it's age. Sure it hasn't gone around the clock?
