    Rental Car

Perhaps you could leave your boyfriend home just once, then you and your daughter could ride.
  2. The boss is right AGAIN, as he should be. When I go to my profile, statistics, join date, what it shows is my join date, imagine that! Using the user CP and looking at PAID SUBSCRIPTION, subscription date is different, shows when last paid and when due, has nuthin to do with join date.
  3. If'n I don't remember my expiry date (therefor my renewal date), is there a way to find it here on the site? It may be obvious, but it's easier to ask the boss. Asking also lets the boss puff up his chest because he is so-o-o-o smart. edit message---Hey, I found it! Right at the bottom of my "STATISTICS". That was pretty easy. Oh yeh, no expiration notice, thought I was getting one but it was a notice about my classified ad about to expire.
  4. Not sure, maybe trial members can't post pics? Best twelve bucks you'll spend on your scoot would be for full membership.
  5. Let me try again--- On my '84 VR I added a pair of aux. lights, and I put a rocker switch on the flat surface on the inner part of the right side of the fairing, wired to a relay. You'll just have to look for a switch. Maybe no switch at all, possibly wired through a relay to come on with low beams. Tracing the wiring may be the only way to solve your mystery.
  6. Well, I'm on a 'Wing now, but if I remember correctly, the "passing lamps" on my '07 RSV had a push button switch on the fairing right next to the 12V receptacle. Out of sight, out of mind, but it turned 'em on and off! Somewhere down in there I think. MY BAD, I just saw he's got a 1st gen. Oh, well, maybe someone with a RSV doesn't know about the switch?
  7. OMD!!!
  8. Repack the wheel bearings!
  9. Hadn't thought about it, haven't had any problems with cracks. In addition to the provided rubber gaskets, I sealed 'em with black silicon. Those lamps are LED, available at WalMart, and I think Harbor Freight has the same thing.
  10. Here's mine after adding more lighting. First hole roughed in, tail lights, plus left turn signal.
  11. +1--- It would require some rather major modification to have the CB coax cable connected to the CB antenna on the right (incorrect) side of the bike. There would be no practical reason to swap the two from side to side and go to all the work of relocating the connecting cables. Logical assumption would be that the antennas (I checked it in the dictionary) have been inadvertently switched. It really needs to be checked and corrected if they are wrong. CB radios cost $ to R&R.
  12. How did you get that little pumpkin to balance on your left mirror? Must be a Canadian thing, eh?
  13. Grease the bearings, grease the bearings, grease the bearings!!! Then put on as many miles as you want. I use it behind my Gold Wing now, have added some additional tail/brake lights.
  14. And the $28.00 one is 2D, not 3D. Usually only another $1 or so (U.S.) for the extra battery length.
  15. I am a fan of Maglite flashlights. Never mind that I worked for them, and took my retirement from there. They are made 100% in the USA (Ontario, California) and I know how exacting the quality control is for everything from machining the aluminum to assembly of the finished product to packaging. At one time Mr. Tony Maglica sent a bunch of lights (thousands, I think) to (hmmmm, was it Desert Storm?) troops because he had read that they didn't have adequate lights for night activities (machine maintenance, etc.). Didn't cost the military or the troops a dime. They now have these AWSOME LED flashlights, but they are mostly very big $. Wait a minute----- check out Home Depot----- a combination LED 3D + a LED 2AA (with batteries, a non-roll device, and holster for the 2AA) for only $27.98. That's less than most places get for just the 3D LED flashlight. The 2AA LED can be more than $20.00 some places. I got mine from the local store, also available on the internet. This link only shows it in black, but I think if you search around you might find the colors. I got blue. http://www.homedepot.com/Maglite/h_d1/N-53xZ5yc1v/R-202550919/h_d2/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10053&langId=-1&storeId=10051 I have no dog in this fight, just sharing what I found to be a very good price on an outstanding MADE IN tHE USA product. And Home Depot still offers a 10% discount for military active/retiree/veteran. If you might have an interest in reading about Mag Instrument's growth and history, here's a link: http://www.maglite.com/company_aboutmag.asp

    EMPTY

    A plural "km"....
  17. Not sure on these carburetors, but on others I've worked on, the idle adjustment is seperate from high speed adjustment. If the idle adjustment is way off on one carb, or there is some kind of internal problem, you may not get a vacuum reading at idle, only at a faster speed as the slide opens up. If all four spark plugs are now connected and firing properly, it may run pretty good at speed, but need the carbs adjusted at idle to get them balanced. Seafoam, Seafoam, Seafoam, and a good tune-up. Hard to tell after it sat for two years.
  18. But that's just once!!!
  19. Why the Eck did you do that???
  20. I found out years ago that a spark plug that shows spark after being removed from the engine doesn't always fire when installed and is under a compression load. Your problem is probably carburetion, but you should install a new set of plugs anyway.
  21. Hey-y-y-y, I resemble those remarks!
  22. Yep, probably won't last any longer than, say, a '84 Venture Royale!
  23. I think the blonde is the '84 VR. I rode one like it until 2004.
  24. Makes me wonder why he has it & is selling it, if he knows so little about it.
  25. Did the bushes help soften the landing?
