  2. Let us not forget. Many were wounded or lost their lives this day, and many more casualties in the following years. The ultimate sacrifice for one's belief and patriotism. Peace on Earth, Good will to all.
  3. Dam, dam, dam! That's too bad, Annie. Hope this helps a little bit.
  4. I used a 5 to 4 adapter under the seat. Brought wires out under the seat to the right side. Wrapped the harness wires with black electriclal tape for appearance. Tucked it in behind the chrome piece that supports the rear grab bar and travel trunk supports. Followed the curve down to the back, used black zip-ties several places, keeping the tape wrapped wiring harness hidden behind that chrome piece. Brought it out near the bottom of the chrome piece. 1st pic also shows quick connect for battery tender. 2nd pic shows going behind the chrome piece. 3rd pic obviously is connector end of harness. When I hook up the trailer I just pull it out and plug it in. I did not fabricate a permanent mount for the connector. I think some of the guys really clean it up by mounting the connector similar to a factory job on a car or truck. P.S. I changed the trailer bulbs to LED's. The extra lights now have minimal effect on the factory flasher unit.

  8. – Fri Dec 3, 11:24 am ET BERLIN (Reuters Life!) – Caught in the buff, a drunken 19-year-old Australian man led German police on a chase through Munich's main train station late Wednesday before slipping on a wet floor where he was later apprehended unhurt. The Sydney native wore only his shoes and held his underwear in his hand during the chase in freezing temperatures, a spokesman for the Bavarian state police said. The teenager quickly changed into his underwear once he fell and police later covered him in a blanket. During questioning the teenager told police that he was carrying out a bet with friends that he could travel through Europe naked. The Bavarian capital was the 11th city on his tour and the first in which he was caught out, according to police. "I simply like to be naked," the police spokesman quoted him as saying. The Australian teenager was fined 100 euros ($132). (Writing by Eric Kelsey; editing by Paul Casciato)
  9. Two Tennessee mountain men are out hunting, and as they are walking along they come upon a huge hole in the ground. They approach it and are amazed by the size of it. The first hunter says, "Wow, that's some hole; I can't even see the bottom. I wonder how deep it is." The second hunter says," I don't know, let's throw something down and listen and see how long it takes to hit bottom." The first hunter says, "There's this old automobile transmission here, give me a hand and we'll throw it in and see". So they pick it up and carry it over, and count one, and two and three, and throw it in the hole. They are standing there listening and looking over the edge and they hear a rustling in the brush behind them. As they turn around they see a goat come crashing through the brush, run up to the hole and with no hesitation, jump in head first. While they are standing there looking at each other, looking in the hole and trying to figure out what that was all about, an old farmer walks up. "Say there," says the farmer, "you fellers didn't happen to see my goat around here anywhere, did you?" The first hunter says, " Funny you should ask, but we were just standing here a minute ago and a goat came running out of the bushes doin' about a hunert miles an hour and jumped headfirst into this hole here!" The old farmer said, "That's impossible. I had him chained to a transmission!"
  10. Quote: Nice photo, ever thought of RESIXING a 5000x5000 pixel photo down to a useable 800X600 instead? lol I know them horses are HUGE but dood!! lol All I did was find it, copy and paste it. In "my time" copy meant something you didn't want to get caught doing in school, and paste was some white sticky stuff little kids used to hold pieces of paper together! And I thought pixels were some kind of little fairies?

  12. Yeh, I thought about an old, old station wagon. Or maybe a well known Ohio State football coach?
  13. I looked and looked but I could not see the cassette deck. Must be hidden in with all those 21st century gadgets!
  14. Another option to check accuracy/your touch when using a precision measuring instrument would be a set of feeler gages. You know, the kind we used to use to set tappets on the OLD car engines or the rocker clearance on some single overhead cam engines. Varying thicknesses to let you get a feel for the differences and to check the instrument's accuracy on different dimensions. I have high end (Mitutoyo) digital 8" caliper and 1" mic, also 1", 2", 3", 4" mechanical mics, all are Starret, and a mechanical 8" dial caliper. I prefer using the mechanical instruments because the digital ones have to be zeroed every time you use them. If you don't know how to read the mechanical mics, it's not hard to learn. Been doing it so long that I forgot that some may not have that skill yet. My two pennies.
  15. Same here for me. I've had 'em for years, can't remember who made them, no tag on the inside except for size. High quality leather, very warm, long cuffs (gauntlets?) keep wind out of jacket sleeves. The mittens seem to be more of a nylon than plastic, but they do keep the glove dry. I'll search a while to see if I can find new ones anywhere.

  17. Is that "Saturday" person by any chance the center on the Indianapolis Colts? Just askin'.
  18. Four different color schemes were available in '84. This information is from this site: 1984 gold DL/DK Alluvial Gold/ Silky Gold 1984 red L/KC2 Bright Cherry Red ( single color ) 1984 blue L/KC2 Orion Silver / Aurora Silver 1984 red DL/DK New Ruby Red /Romanesque Crimson
  19. I bought a '84 Royale brand new, rode it until 2004. It was the two tone gold, along with the two matching helmets. They had the two tone blue on display, but it was a standard. Just my two pennies.
  20. Warranty on a '99? Wow, these warranties are even better than I thought!
  21. Sea Foam @ Pep Boys, 96th st. in Fishers (Indy) Indiana $7.98. More than I prefer to pay, but they have it.
  22. If O'reilly Auto Parts doesn't have it on the shelf, they have a policy for buying it on the internet and picking it up at the store. Try this: http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/brand.oap?mn=Sea+Foam&mc=SEF
  23. You could try square corn cobs, they won't roll away. Red first, then a white one to see if you need another, followed by another red one if necessary. Kind of like making gas out of corn? Ecologically correct.
  24. Tomorrow Nov. 11, 2010 on Veterans Day, the Texas Roadhouse restaurant near me is offering a free "Early Bird" (4:00 to 6:00 PM) meal to our military, active or veteran. My offer (by email) is valid only at the Fishers, Indiana restaurant, but I would guess that if you check their main web-site there will be something there for other locations. Other VR members in the Indianapolis area may want to take a trip to Fishers. Must provide proof of military service. I will use a copy of my Honorable Discharge. It's only 44 years old. The DD 214 is getting a little faded.
  25. Here is link to Georgia Patriot Guard Riders. I'm sure there are some members here that can help you with a request for escort for a fallen hero. http://pgrofga.com/
