A friend of mine was looking for a Venture when he came across an 88 Voyager that looks like a really nice bike and a good deal. I was cruising through the Voyager forum getting a little info on the bike when I ran across this list. Guess they have to carry extra fuel pumps all the time.

Nope...stole it from the Voyager forum. :

Thank you for your service. My son-in-law is a Sgt ( Airborne) stationed at Fort Bragg as was my daughter who was a MP with Airborne, who just got out after a year over in Afghanistan. I have spent a lot of time at Bragg and in Fayetteville. You stay safe. We appreciate your sacrifice and dedication. Good Luck.

I think the one thing missing is the trailer to haul it all.....

Hi All, I found this list on an other forum and thought I would pass it on. I'm sure everybody has their own specific items they take. TRIP SUPPLIES 1. Rain gear 2. BUMMMER.....!!!! just after posting below ( or above depending on your set up) I called USAA to get a quote for my 2 bikes...they said they don't insure motorcycles directly...., but they do it through Progressive..... That was a very short call...

I think you need to "cool down" a little ...no need to get "heated up" over such a little problem... You're a 1st Genner...you can handle it ! Leave the whining for the jealous 2nd Genners... P.S. Good luck ! I have heard that cold sucks !!
-
OH ..NO... NOW YOU GOT ME WORRIED....GOTTA CHECK THE FORECAST... Nope....still safe.... no problems here...... :happy65:Big Tom..how you doing back there...????
-
Hey Big Tom...found the best way to explain things........
-
Quick...somebody grab the tranquilizer gun before he really gets mad.... ! ............

If I had known how much fun having a Grand Princess was, I would have had her first !
-
Congrats... I am enjoying having my first one that is just a hair short of 5 months old. Enjoy everyday....
-
Never saw a 2nd Gen is faster post, just mainly the 2nd Genners whining about the 1st Gens being faster, more desirable, a man's bike and having better looking riders...

Yo...Big Tom..... I'm thinkin...... Spam flavored Ice Cream ........
-
Your just ticked that you have to share your ice cream !

I feel your pain ! Our daughter and now 5 month old Grand Princess lives 2249 miles away. We live through picture mail. It is hard not to be there. Okay, not as hard as when my daughter ( Princess #1) was 10,000 miles away in Afghanistan with dirtbags trying to kill her, but not as easy as when she is in the next room. Hang in there. Sign up for Skype, frequent flier miles and picture mail on your phone. At least you never give up your bragging rights ! I'm exercising mine right now .....

Congrats... I am going on my 1 month of ownership on my 89. I love it. I am ready to do a few upgrades and repairs to mine, but can't bring myself to even start to take it apart since I would miss riding opportunities. Friday night I was out riding until 11pm with a friend. I love the ride of my Venture ! My 06 KLR650 is in a deep depression having not been ridden in so long. ALSO, welcome to the 1st Generation club. The elite of the elite. Although you will get really good information and friendship from the 2nd Genners, don't let them fool you. You are in the higher caste system here. The proper definition and explanation is below: Noun1.caste system - A social structure in which classes are determined by heredity, 1st Generation Ventures are of a higher caste system than 2nd Generation Ventures, class structure - the organization of classes within a society. 1st Generations Rule. 2. A social class separated from others by distinctions of hereditary rank, profession, or wealth . See definition #1
