  1. Or Indonesian ? Obama said dog tasted good......
  2. My daughter, grand daughter, and son in law are still at Bragg. I can't wait until they leave there and move closer west. Good luck on your new adVenture west.
  3. Checked the want ads. Openings for dog sled operators Ice fisherman Medics ( with experience treating frost bite) Snow plow operators Igloo builders Ice Road Truckers Ski Lift operators ( must supply own mountain)
  4. They hold exactly 57.62 lbs of Harley parts, one 2nd Gen tow rope ( so they can keep up) , and years and years of faster fun.
  5. Just spray your screen with RAID and I'm sure they will go away.... Probably just Big Tom morphing himself into another body..he was infesting several threads recently...
  6. One thing I noticed on my 89 is that it ran bad when the airbox was off. Once it was back on it ran fine. So, you might see more issues on it running when you take the airbox off to look at the sliders. I have been battling the poor mileage and gas smell gremlins myself. Good luck !
  7. Don't have a bib for the Lil 2nd Genner..but I could hook you up with a 2nd Genner seat like I did for my friend's 01... Sorry...sometimes i just can't help myself.....
  8. ...Okay..not really... but thought I would post these picts from a news story:
  9. Unfortunately the shock was a little too much for Big Tom. Emergency procedures were enacted. An ice cream rescue and intervention was required. Rumor has it that after a banana split IV, and a prescription of one double dip cone every four hours, he should make a full recovery.
  10. If your starter button is not returning all the way out your headlight will not come on. It does sound like more of a different electrical issue though. I'm sure more info from the Venture gurus here will be coming along... Good luck on the repair.
  11. I heard it was loaded and on it's way to Big Tom's house... so sad..
  12. Thank you for the clarification. Photos and related nightmares were not necessary .
  13. Or MarCarl is selling women's underwear to make a few buck... The question is .."was it new or slightly used ? :shock3:" Hey just asking.......
  14. My Arizona registration for my 89 was $23.08 plus $25.00 for my Special Freedom plate.
  15. Thank you sir ! All done now. Just need to get the battery back in and see how she runs.
  16. I finally have some time to put the new diaphragms on the 87. The diaphragm installation and the new spacer on the needle went fast, just want to know if I should: 1) Use any lock tight on the outside housing screws on the cap? 2) Use any sealer around the metal cap that goes over the diaphragm ? Seems like the diaphragm is it's own seal(er) but though I would ask before I put it all back together.
  17. Golf and Venture and Recovery is doing something along these lines: Here is the thread: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=70504
  18. One thing about the KLR's is that the tire pressure makes a big difference on the dirt or gravel. Lower pressures will give you much better traction and get rid of the marbles on ice feeling. I loved my KLR650. Only sold it to get my 87 Venture for my son to ride. Play with the pressures and your ride will be much more enjoyable.
  19. Need to save, for what reason I do not know, the POND MONSTERS !
  20. I got $12.53 cents worth of entertainment from this thread alone... Looks like I'm ahead some more...
  21. From what I can tell, from extensive hospitalization and great medical care, and after careful consideration, Brian does not have, or has not suffered any type of TBI ( Traumatic Brain Injury) that would lead him to the decision of replacing his bike with a 2nd Gen. Looks like a complete 1st Gen type recovery is the prognoses.
  22. Isn't that exactly what Sandusky would say ??? :shock3:
  23. Isn't it more comfortable to fall off when it is cool than hot ? Just asking........
  24. I will try to get over to the bikes tomorrow to look. I have to finish a 3 1/2 hour online certification for a DSS Certification. When I finish that I can ride the heat wave over to the bikes.
