  1. Thanks for answering that so Brian can FOCUS on getting his bike back on the road.... Geez talk about rabbit trails.....
  2. That makes sense since the lights worked on & off..flickered until it finally went. So the fuse kept giving some power.. I do have a main fuse from battery to fuse block and it did not go. Everything looks like it is working now. I had ordered a new fuse block early yesterday for the 87, Guess it will go into the 89 and I'll order another one for the 87.
  3. do you just click on the dot ? I did that, but it seemed like there should be more to it.. that seems too simple..
  4. I did lose all the lights, front and back since those were the two fuses that burned. I think they were from a Harbor Freight kit, so that might have something to do with it. I did the mod a while ago, so not sure why now. I ordered a new block for my 87 yesterday so timing was right, I will rewire using more fuses this time. I got everything to work last night moving the wires to unused fuse links. I will be looking for another "cause" if there is one... You would think the fuse would just go and be done with it...
  5. On my way home from a meeting tonight I noticed my volt meter acting weird and my dash panel would flicker. Next thing I know it got real dark. Pulled over under a street lamp and found this when I pulled the false tank top off: Two fuses melted to the max. Luckily my wife was driving home at the same time so I called her to follow me home. Long dark ride...even had a patrol car pass me and keep going...guess you cant pull over what you can't see...
  6. I would love to see that in person to really look closely at the construction/engineering. Thanks for posting.
  7. One of my investigations took me to the local HD Shop. This trailer was there. The rear window hatch unlocked and lifted the whole roof up for access. Pretty cool trailer.
  8. This years Run For The Wall has two routes a southern route and central route, Just thought I would post the links. It is really a cool thing to participate. Last year it was my first PGR Mission. This year I hope to tag along to the next gas stop. Gotta check with them to make sure it is okay though.. 9. I didn't follow the Doctor's advice the first time around with the what I refer to now as the "minor" surgery. The second surgery involved a titanium made shoulder. Even coming home from the 2nd surgery I didn't "follow the orders" and had the issue below. Now with my titanium should I get the special VIP treatment from the TSA at every airport since I sound off the metal detectors.. I think I'm engaged to TSA molesters...Uh..I mean screeners in Vegas, Phoenix, Atlanta, Raleigh and Fayetteville... FOLLOW THE DOCTORS ORDERS... or learn to like the TSA guys really well.....
  10. Done. Good luck Mike. Hope you and your daughter get back in the saddle fast.
  11. Besides the air blast, you can use some carb cleaner. Just drain the bowl, stick the red plastic hose from the carb cleaner into the drain hose just make sure you wrap a small cloth around where the hose and spray tube connect to protect from spray back. Blast the stuff in to the bowl and let drain back out. You can do all 4 carbs with one can.
  12. Mine went in much easier than coming out. Move the wires and you will find the right little angle. Good luck.
  13. You forgot to mention "In Pink"
  14. Great Job Brian ! These look GREAT! Please put me down for the following: USA Size = 7" Qty = 2
  15. Then let's keep this one OFF THE ASPHALT buddy !
  16. I know it will be a hard day. I will pray that GOD's grace is with you and your family. Sorry for your loss.
  17. Good save Bert ! Glad you kept it upright. Salt River is a fun ride but I take it slower... those steep side drop offs remind me that its not the fall that hurts but the sudden stop at the bottom. The first time a drug the pegs on a friend's Vulcan 1600 on a Silver City run definitely got my attention. Hey, I'm in North Carolina, but will be back Monday. I still have that center stand if you want it. I should be home all day Monday.
  18. Dan, so sorry to hear of your loss. So young.
  19. I had a 1st Gen, 2006, KLR650. They are a great bike. I put over 20K in one year on mine. The y last a long time if maintained. Cheap to maintain and repair. Sold my KLR for my 87...hope to get another KLR as soon as possible. Did I mention they are a great bike ?
  20. Good to hear from you... with all this talk on launching Rockets... thought maybe you were jettisoned out somewhere...
  21. One thing to keep in mind: As you slide the fork back up and tighten the bearings, reach down and make sure that there are no wires or anything that got pinched between the forks and the frame neck. ... don't ask me how I know this... :whistling:
  22. Pretty cool. Just shows me you all live back east. It's kinda lonely out west...
  23. Why are you making fun of YammerDans garage ???
