Big-bird replied to naturbar's topic in Inspirational, Motivational, Prayer Requests, Etc.
Our prayers are with you and your family. If you ever have a need to just talk, feel free to PM me and we will get together. I can relate as we lost our only son 3 years ago the 19 of this month. Prayers are your way!- 112 replies

It is an older Motel, but was clean when we stayed there 5 or 6 years ago. I would suggest the Iron Horse Motorcycle Lodge, in Stecoah, NC http://www.ironhorsenc.com

Try a small ease out, but be gentle!! -
You do not have to remove the fairing to tighten the bearings, but you do to repack them.

Thanks for the Heads up Mini, some of us in North west Alabama are gonna ride up to Rocket Harley and then back down to Fosters Harley where they will do Dinner. We really do enjoy these old bikes, These guys who keep these old bikes running are to be commended. -
Lost Seat Hold Down Nut Replacement - 2nd Gen
Big-bird replied to KeithR's topic in Poor Man Tips and Fixes
After loosing my 3rd set about 60000 miles ago, I just left them off. My philosophy may not be right, but my 270 lbs has done a good job of holding the seat down for the past 60+k. However it did make it a lot easier to get to fuse for my gerbings on the side of I-65 one cold rainy night last January. I was shaking so hard I don't think I could have got the stupid little nuts off, much less back on. -
I have a 79 XS 1100 Special, These old bikes are a very fine ride, not to mention a lot of Fun.

We rode Hwy 2 across Nebrasca, through the Sand Hills. Enjoyed the land scape. Tommy
