OK, I'm cheap, and had too much time on my hands! Here's my $2.00 GPS mount for my 2nd gen: http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j204/DragracerUSA/GPS%20Mount/IMG_7849.jpg I started with this cup: http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j204/DragracerUSA/GPS%20Mount/IMG_7846.jpg I centered the gas cap in the cup facing downward, and cut off the top 3.5" of the cup. I then mounted the flat stick on disk that came with the GPS to the bottom of the cup.. I screwed it to the cup just to be safe. I used a heat gun to mold the cup to fit the gas cap snugly. http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j204/DragracerUSA/GPS%20Mount/IMG_7851.jpg http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j204/DragracerUSA/GPS%20Mount/IMG_7852.jpg Here is is pushed onto the gas cap without the GPS mount stuck on. This is held to the gas cap by friction only. I just rode it over 2.5 miles of lime rock, and it never moved. http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j204/DragracerUSA/GPS%20Mount/IMG_7850.jpg The cup came from Wal-Mart in a pack of 4 for $2.00. So technically, it really only cost .50 cents! To remove it, twist slightly and it pulls right off! http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j204/DragracerUSA/GPS%20Mount/IMG_7853.jpg

MC Stand/Wheel Chock
Dragracer replied to dlhoulton's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
I use this one on my lift. Motorcycle Wheel Chock http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/gifs/clear.gif ITEM 96349-2VGA I ride the bike up on the lift into the chock, step off, and raise the lift. If I'm doing something other than cleaning it, I'll strap it down. I have a second one under my work bench that's going on my bike trailer as soon as i get a round to it!- 13 replies

Anybody done a radical paint job on their 2nd Gen?
Dragracer replied to spear's topic in Watering Hole
I went from this: http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j204/DragracerUSA/DSCN2788.jpg to this: http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j204/DragracerUSA/DSCN0355.jpg -
The final drive seal (Part 22 in this photo http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/parts/home.aspx ) is leaking. If anyone has changed this seal, I have a question. Does this seal remove/install from the outside, or do you have to remove part 19 and install it from the inside? Thanks in advance for any advice. Ronnie King EDIT: Sorry, the link will not take you directly to the correct page. I have a 1999 second gen XVZ1300, and the correct page is the one for the driveshaft.

No money needed. These were sent to me free of charge, and I'd like to pass it on. I'll sent it out in the next day or two.

I have one on the desk in front of me as I type. I needed one a year or so ago, and 2 gentlemen from this site sent me one each. So send me your addy, and I'll send the spare to you. It's in good shape with the rubber on each end.

You are looking for the bar that bolts to the front fork to mount the turn signals to, on a 2nd gen??

Lowering front of genII Venture
Dragracer replied to JerryK's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
My 99 is lowered 1.5" in the rear with the Barons kit, 1" in the front by moving the forks up, and I have the smaller tire on front. Absouletely NO handling problems. The bike is easier to ride, stopping is easier (cause I can now reach the ground with both feet), and it handles perfectly! 99% of my riding is 2 up. And the kickstand will work with no modifications! -
Well, this is what I ended up with: http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j204/DragracerUSA/IMG_0417.jpg http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j204/DragracerUSA/IMG_0420.jpg It's a Direct Lift Pro Cycle 1000 lb lift. I got a great deal on it, but I wanted the side extensions to make loading/unloading the Venture a little safer. I called Affordale Automotice Equipment in Orlando, and spoke with company president, Bill Venditto. Bill was easy to deal with and gave me an excellent price on the extension kit. I'd recommend this business to anyone looking for a bike lift or parts. http://www.affordableautomotiveequip.net/
