valvoline synthetic brake fluid ?
Yamamike replied to mike042's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Are you sure this is synthetic?? I know I'm late on this but I'm researching the subject for my winter project! I thought only DOT5 was synthetic! -
Maybe it's for charging?? I have a great little USB charger ($15 Best Buy) so I can charge anything with a USB "dongle". Don't need to carry the sometimes bulky auto chargers that come with devices. One tiny charger for all my electronics. Me loves it! BTW...didn't mean to high-jack yer thread there!

A few guys (like Jef) who build R/C planes will proly drool over that one!! I sure would!

A dongle is just a wire to connect one device to another (like phone to USB charger or to computer or radio, etc.). The term is not specific to any device...it's more of a generic term.

Just an FYI...if you plan to install or replace an existing radio...it's a good idea (IMHO) to get one with a USB connection. I use my cell phone as an MP3 player and the USB port (on my car stereo) charges the device at the same time. You can plug anything with a USB cord into it (I-Pod, cell phone, GPS, etc) Have a great trip.

OMG!! Dude, the tears are still flowing:crackup:

I think I read a post mentioning that crankcase oil level above the half mark will also cause this to happen.

OK now...Goose...are you saying the fairings/luggage are made of ABS? The reason I ask is that it seems there is some confusion as to whether it's PVC or ABS. I'm pretty sure I've seen conflicting posts on that matter. How can we know for sure??

Thanks Guys! I'm using a combination of "home made Plastex" (acetone & ABS shavings) and epoxy. I tried a few different epoxies and found that even the "quick set" one don't set nearly as fast as the home made stuff. It does mean you have to work fairly quickly...just have to make smaller batches but the results are very solid. Pics to come!

Her Diary; Tonight I thought my husband was acting weird. We had plans to meet at a nice restaurant for diner. I was shopping with my friends all day, so I thought he was upset that I was late but he made no comment on it. Conversation wasn't flowing so I suggested we go someplace quiet so we could talk. He agreed but didn't say much. I asked him what was wrong; he said "Nothing". I asked if it was my fault he was upset. He said he wasn't upset and it had nothing to do with me and not to worry about it. On the way home, I told him I love him. He just smiled and kept driving. I can't explain his behaviour...I don't know why he didn't say "I love you too". When we got home, I felt as if I had lost him completely, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there quietly and watched TV. He seemed distant and distracted. Finaly, I could not bare the silence so I went to bed. About 15 minutes later, he came to bed too but just layed there quietly and fell asleep...I cried. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster! His Diary; My mororcycle won't start...can't figure out why!

Will this fit MK1 & 2? I have a 83 and I'm having a hard time visualizing where it attaches to the bike.

aftermarket battery
Yamamike replied to Yamamike's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Jeff said "As you dig in to get the module out, it will be easy to stop and check the wire to be sure that it is good all of the way there." Wire has good continuity so that's not the problem. Some have made reference to "pots" in some of the threads relating to the bypass mod. Are these potentiometers??- 28 replies

New owner questions
Yamamike replied to Trevor Heath's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
My 2 cents...for longer wearing tires, you need harder compounds. That relates to (almost always) less grip (especially in the rain). I'll take the better grip, thank you!:backinmyday:LOL My Virago has Kenda Kruz front and rear and I love them.
