They recommend running a hose to an area where it will not pull in dirt. I've seen some run up under the false tank cover (battery area) but if you don't have a maintenance free battery, you may pull in gasses from the battery. I would just run it anywhere up high and put a small filter on it. M2C

Well since folks are still reading/adding to this thread...here's my 2cents. Royal distributing...they have a tent sale in the spring and fall where the worst deal you'll get is the equivalent of tax off. They also have other great deals plus you can order stuff and pick up during the week longs sale and still get the deals. I went for my second set Kenda Kruz (loved em on the Virago) and love them.

Joe...if you think that's too many people you do not want to be anywhere near Port Dover on any Friday 13th.

What I find interesting is when sometimes the price at the pump is on the way up while the price of crude can be going down!! Creative math??

Well there is always the possibility (though slim) you'll get pulled aside and "inspected" in either direction. All depends on the mood of the border officer and whether he/she thinks you look like a smugler.

"IT'S SO DRY that the Baptists are starting to baptize by sprinkling, the Methodists are using wet-wipes, the Presbyterians are giving rain checks, and the Catholics are praying for the wine to turn back into water!" :rotf:

I was there and saw 3 first gens and a whole lot of other iron of all kinds. Last estimate I heard was 250,000 people...don't know how many bikes. I'm totally guessing but I'd say way more than 10,000. Other than a little rain on the way home, it was a great day.

"But when it come to cool, I thought cost was no object. If the cost of cool were an issue, there would be no such thing as CHROME or other add ons that serve no purpose other than cool. So who is going to be the first from this forum to do it????" __________________ I nominate Jeff! -

Yamamike replied to JohnMidnight's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Are you referring to the throttle cable or the box on top of the carbs? -
Stator...Which One?
Yamamike replied to Wizard765's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Is it safe to assume that this wire is loose in there and the fact that it moves is what prevents clogging?? Also...if I were to buy a hi output stator, is it necessary to replace the RR as well. -

Because it is nearly impossible to stop a bike (if the guy refuses to stop) without putting him down and very likely killing him/her. Can you imagine the sh$$storm that cop would be facing if that happened. I really feel for these cops...can't even imagine how frustrating it must be.

Turn signals and speedo cable
Yamamike replied to bags529's topic in Venture and Venture Royale Tech Talk ('83 - '93)
Speedo...did the outer casing come loose from the top? If not, you may not have to remove it, just replace the cable itself. If it did and you have small hand, you may be able to reconnect it by removing the left signal light. While you're in there the fast flashing is an indication you have a bulb burned out........... Dang...always someone beating me with a reply......
