  3. hi all i have spent the last couple of hours looking thru the 2nd tech for stator/battery upgrade info. i have a 99 rsv with over 41,000 miles on it. i bought it ( aug'06 ) from a used m/c shop with just over 21,000 miles on it. have not had any trouble with electrical system so far. but the stator/battery are the same ones that came with the bike. i will be riding to the 08 international venturerider rally in kitchener, ont,ca. i will be pulling a trailer w/all the camping stuff. i have replaced all the lights on the trailer w/led's to reduce the electrical load on the bike. my question is should i replace the stator with the upgraded one from buckeye performance? and is the odyssey pc545 the right battery for the 2'nd gen? i have read commits about the odyssey pc680 but i think it's for the 1'st gen bikes. i'll replace the battery now but rather not replace the stator on the side of the road somewhere, if you all think i should replace it now. while we're having a cool spell here in texas. thanks in advance don

  7. hi just to let you know my experiance with the barons lowering kit. i bought a used '99 rsv with 21,000 miles on it two years ago. it had the 1" lowering kit on it. it would bottom out/scrape the shock relay arm on some high crowned roads here in southeast texas that are paved with asphat instead of concret.( that only happened when i had a passenger onboard) on concret roads it was ok, but in some steap turns the tail pipe tips would scrape. also driving off some driveways. i just recently removed the kit and returned everthing to stock. i also had to replaced the rear shock. that may have had something to do with it. i also have a short inseam 26" so this doesn't help. i was on the balls of my feet before but now on my tippy toes. i have just purchased the barron's 1 1/2 " lowering kit but not installed yet. i understand i can lower the bike 1" by adjusting the fork trip tree. or cut my aftermarket saddle down. i think i will cut my seat down first and go from there. i also canged the front tire to a 130 instead of a 150. that made a big difference in the handling. hope this helps, looking forward to meeting up with everyone at the '08 international rally in canada. i plan on driving the bike from houston to there and back. peace to all don
  8. hi all i have been trying to make reseravations at bingermans camping resort at kitchener, ontario for a couple of days now. the 800-565-4631 and the 519-744-1002 #'s are at the caming site and they are closed for the season. the 519-744-1555 is a working phone # but at the main park office. also the online reservation site has not been working. called the 519-744-1555 this morning and explaned the problem. was transfered over to a mr. lou who said the last person/employee left that part of the resort yesterday. had told him about some problems up there. mr. lou said he will call me back later today / tomorrow and will take care of my reservation and fix the problems. if you are having any problems give them a day or so to fix things. but the 519-744-1555 is a good contact #. thanks to reiny rooster and any others up there taking on this big project. what has happen is beyond their control. i am lookig forward to make this big and far ride. my 13 y.o is really excited about this trip i've taken her to the big bend park area here in texas, but this ride will really putting her to the iron butt test. peace to all don
