hi erich thanks for the kind words. glad the radio fixed the problem. i was just lucky enough to have that spare radio laying around. i had a cb problem and purchased the wrong unit. but i fixed the problem with help from others on this site. i was just trying to return the favor. i sent you a pm. hope you can get some ride time in now. as i have learned on this site we are a big family. best reguards don c.

thanks for the offer tom i'll keep you in mind. hopefully it will last awhile. but it did start groaning last month, had to add the 1/2oz forkoil and 1/2 oz atf that rick bulter talked about.that made it quite again. this shock not even a year old yet. don c.

hi salty that size hole is realy a fast fix for any a/c tech. it should only take an hour or two at the most. may have to tear away some of the conderer fins to solder the hole . they will have to pull a vacume on the system to see if they fixed the hole. they should know in about 30 minutes or so. and then start adding freon back to the system. good luck, have a great weekend. don c.

hi salty sorry to hear the bad news, if the hole isn't real big (bigger than your little finger) a good a/c tech should be able to silver sodder / weld it closed. then pull a vacume on the whole system to make sure the weld job is good. if it holds a vacume, then they should recharge the system with freon. hope this info helps. don c.

hi all went on a weekend run over to the texas hill country, to run the twisted sisters. my mpg range was a low of 37.8 to a high of 45.4. overal all mpg for 799.2 miles was 41.1. i feel this was pretty good for me. should maybe get better on the freeways running a steady speed. also there was a guy take photos of bikes coming around a hairpin turn, on f.m.337 some were past the kyote ranch and leaky, texas. has enyone else seen him? i thought his sign said www.txmxphoto.com but i could not pull the web site up. any help would be most welcome. best reguards don c.

hi ob-1 i am useing the b.f.goorich t/a radial 155/80r/15. i realy like it so far. just returned from riding the three sisters / some say the twisted sisters. fm337,fm336 & fm335 some of the top rated twistes in the state by ride texas magazine. just out side of kerrville, texas. had no problems, total of 800 miles in two days. i do not ride aggresively. but i do run at least 5 to10 mph over the posted speed limit all the time. nor do i try to scrape the floorboards, but it's nice to know i can if i have to. i am looking for the milage /coast aspect of this tire. 40,000 miles @ $75.00. i have read a lot on this mod, and as stated before. it's not for everyone & i will not twist your arm. but i will pass along my experiance and info about this mod. i will be rideing the bike up to canada for the 08 international rally. i will also be pulling my tow behind trailer with all my camping gear. when i ware this tire down i might try the kumho solus kr21 165/80r-15 next. its just a little bigger. i must tell anyone to take it easy for a couple hundred miles when you do this mod, so you can scrape the mode release coating and get use to the tire. thanks for checking out the darkside. aways feel free to contact me for any help or more info. best reguards don c.

Di-lectric didn't do it. Radio still possessed, help!
gunboat replied to FutureVentures's topic in Watering Hole
hi rv just went thru all the parts listed by pinwall cycles, no mcu listed. i called them once about a part not listed. was told if it's not listed it's no good. i think your right about the mcu, but i will still send the radio to ya to try. if it fixes the problem then we have a deal if not just ship it back. i hate electrical problems. best reguards don c.- 13 replies

Final Drive/Drive shaft help...
gunboat replied to jrcain32's topic in Royal Star Venture Tech Talk ('99 - '13)
there is a little rubber boot /cover on top of the swingarm. pull that boot/cover off. you can use a flashlight to look down in ther to see the u-joint. thats were you can use a cut down clothes hanger. make a hook on one end to '' hook the u-joint''. it's just a matter of pushing and pulling to get the shaft aligned to slide back in. do not forget to re-install the rubber boot/cover. keeps the dirt & grit and water out. hope this helps don c.
