  1. thanks boss. as i have always stated since you installed the darksider fourm. this is a mod that had worked for me BUT is not for everyone. i have ALWAYS just wanted folks to BE AND FEEL SAFE. you have allowed us voice our thoughts and feelings and experiances with the c/t, good or bad. i now have a '99 rsv trike that has two c/t's. the trike is a totaly different bike from a regular 2-wheel rsv with a single c/t. thanks again boss. best reguards don c.

  5. i am pretty sure that it's leaking from the shock and not from the clutch. you should notice the fluid level in the slight glass start to drop lower. but how high do you keep the oil level in it's sight glass. any more than middle of the glass you could get oil blow by on to the shock? just a thought. don c.
  6. annie if you win that trailer. i'll arrange to have it shiped to ya, on one of our flights to the land down under. don c.

  11. i have not used fishing line to remove bages. but have used some plastic putty knife styled scrapers from work that do the job. i also agree on the wd-40 to help remove the sticky stuff. don c.

  14. hi lynn glad to hear you got it done. this site and the family that " live " here are the greatest. i have met and rode with so many great people. i have also saved $$ by doing a lot of my own mx. now we just need to have a mx day up in your area. myself and a few others have been known to ride a few hundred miles to help in these events. best reguards don c.
  15. very nice bob looks like your starting the grandson out right. it's all ways fun to spoil the grandkids and then give then back. reguards & best wishes don c.
  16. hi jeff you are right about the crush washer, sorry about the mis-info. reguards don c.
  17. hi lynn yes it's a pretty stright & easy procedure. just make sure you keep all the old gasket materal out of the cavity. as been said you don't even have to drain the oil. you should buy some ball-end metric allen wrenches. this helps to reach the bottom couple of bolts. also make a mock-up cardboard cover and poke holes in it. as to place each bolt in the same place on the mock-up as you remove it from the case. now the very bottom bolt should have a copper crush washer on it. the shop manual says to use a new copper crush washer. but the crush washer was missing on the trike. so i just put some gasket seleant on the threads and re-installed it. also skydoc instructions will tell you, the clutch handle will now be some what harder to pull in. but it won't take you long to get use to the stiffer pull. reguards don c.
  18. hi lynn you didn't say how many miles you have on the bike. my first 2'nd gen the clutch started doing the same as yours. around 21,000-25,000 miles, it seams to be common on these bikes. i replaced the clutch plate/ spring with one from barrnet. it's kind of expensive, but it's a pretty purple color. my '99 rsv trike started sliping at about the same millage. but this time i replaced it with the skydoc kit. you can't go wrong with earl's kit. if i can be of any help give me a call, # is in my profile. reguards don c.
  19. cathie and i will come along. but we will do the cruise only. reguards don c.
  20. I don't think this trunk is adjustable. Maybe there is some wallow room where it mounts, but it wouldn't be much. the trunk can be moved back just about 1'' if i remember right. also rick butler ( one of our members up in north texas) does a very good seat mod to both of the seats. but unless he has a spare seat of each, you have to send him your seats to have the mod done. but he usually has a fast turn around time. send him a pm. reguards don c.
