hi all i have the wobble's twice. the first time was when i had the me880's. i opened the bike up to 115 mph, then the wobbles started. i normany drive 5 mph over the speed limit all the time. this was a couple years ago when i first bought the rsv. i just drive normal posted speed. the next time it happened was a few months after i installed the c/t. i ran the bike back up to 110-115 mph again. the wobbles started again made it thru again. i have not greased or tighten the steering head bearings. but i have now learned to to stay below 90 mph and i won't have any problems. now i know of a 1'st gen rider, who got the wobbles after passing a 18-wheeler probbley pushing 80-90 mph and he got the wobbles. he had just installed new tires front & back. only been installed a couple hundred miles. he went back home after the weekend rebuilt the front end. hasn't had a problem sense then. i guess what i'am trying to say is anyone can get the wobbles not just us darksiders. be safe, see ya'll on the road somewhere. don c.

hi dave read about this the other day when there was a post about the darkside web site. and i'am still reading about this mod. i'll keep an open mind, the more info the better. i'll agree with you about everyone being civil now about using a c/t on the rear. there are more of us on this site now who have switched. 99.9% of us who have switch will stay on the darkside. i wish everyone to be safe. i will tell you if it's working or not. for me it is working. i have almost 20,000 miles on my c/t now. i do so at my own risk. now if i can find a c/t for the front? best reguards don c.

hi ken i installed a swivel hitch on my trailer last year before going to the '08 int. rally. i left it as it was, it does stick out there a ways. had no issuses with it, pulled it 4,238 miles round trip. i would just leave it the way it is but that is my 2 cents. best reguards don c.

jeff sounds good to me. i want to be informed as much as possible. i want everyone who crosses over to the darkside and/or thinking about it to be safe. i think there has been 1 or 2 who has tired the c/t and didn't like it. that's really ok, they tried it and reported back to us. but i'am happy with my decision. looks like their are 14 of us and a couple on the sides lines wating for their rear m/t to wear out so they can install a c/t. be carefull with your back, their's time for every thing. best reguards don c.

lowell got my bfg at northwest tire & battery, was / is a co-company of sears. the local mall sears close to me said they didn't keep the bfg in stock. would be a couple of days before it came in. went to nt&b ( now this all to place on a sunday ) they ordered it and had it tuesday morning. don c.

jeff good idea as saw todays post from lowell, didn't know the federal tire sidewall was 1-ply. but it seems no one else has had the same problem as lowell. i was going to use a federal as my next choice of tire because of it being a 165. installed my bfg (155) before i knew a 165 would fit. but will now look at other 165's when i have to change out my rear tire. may not be until next year, as my bfg is wearing in the middle and not on the sides. best reguards don c.

hi john what about using a small square of velcro to cover the mp3 connector. do you think the velcro would be water proof enought? just a cheap idea. could use a small hole punch to open a hole to plug in a mp3 cord. and a little shot of wd-40 in the hole. then put the other peice of velcro to cover the whole thing up? just thinking outl oud don c. -

hi marvin as far as i know, there isn't a c/t that will fit on a 1'st gen. but i could be wrong on this. i have not added "ride on" to my tires yet, but i feel it's a good idea. that is a nice looking traielr you have behind your scoot. best reguards don c.

hi ray there are some of us rsv rider who have changed the rear tire (m/c) on our bikes to a (c/t) car tire. their are honda goldwings and vtx riders who have gone to the DARKSIDE as it is called. there is a section on this site that freebird put on for us & anybody to read about this mod, to discuess it. if you have any questions feel free to contact me. best reguards don c.

hi michael welcome to the darkside. i installed the bf goodrich c/t last april. i had cycle gear remove the tire but i installed it. never balanced it, have not noticed any shake or vibrations by not doing so. i now have almost 20,000 mile on it. lowell- wildhair i belive has the most miles on his c/t than anyone who has done this mod. flb78 i belive has about worn out his c/t ( not sure of his milage ) but he has said he's hard on the tire. this mod is not for everyone, but it works for me. one member here did try it and didn't like it. he went back to a m/c tire and thats ok. be safe and give it a couple hundres miles to skuff in. keep us informed, hope to see ya at the '09 int.rally at the hub. i belive i paid $45.00 for my c/t from nt&b here in houston. feel free to contact me if you have any questions. best reguards don c.

hi john i'am kind of thinking of installing at least the volt meter and possible the ammeter. i think i would like to put a tach there in the cluster, instead of a water temp and oil pressure gauges. i like what you have done, gave me some new ideas. thanks don c. -
