  1. I think that thing was an '80's Buick or Oldsmobile in a former life.
  2. does Vetter still make Windjammer fairings? Sure looks like one.
  3. I had my left knee done last May. Don't wait if you are in a lot of pain. I took a few months off of riding but ride toward every day the weather permits and I'm 64.
  4. Sounds like you are doing great. It will be a year in May since I had my right knee done. It's not perfect, but much better than it was before the surgery. I went back toward after three weeks also. I too have stiffness if I sit too long, like in the movies. Keep up the therapy. They say you will get improvement up to a year after surgery.
  5. Guess I won't be having lunch there the first week May.
  6. My RSV went away yesterday. But the good news is AlecC is a new member to the forums and he is the new owner. It seems like a lot of folks of late are selling their Yammies or leaving riding entirely. Whats up with that? I have't picked it up yet because we are having a spring blizzard her but my new ride is waiting for me as soon as the weather breaks. I know, where are the pix? I'm giving it a try.
  7. Don, I would have sold you my 06 RVS with 12K (you could do another iron butt from colorado springs back to ohio), but someone else came to the house yesterday and gave me a deposit. It will be leaving on Saturday. Now I'm actively shopping for another bike thats easier to handle in city streets. Considering a vtx 1300, a roadstar, or maybe even a valkyiere. something not so top heavy and lighter. The RSV was great on the backroads and interstates of ohio, but not so hot on city streets.
  8. I had one of those request too. He was quite insistent he needed that vin report.
  9. In Estes Park, take the road thru rocky mountain national park, hit grand lake, continue down thru Berthold pass to I-70. If you go west a little you will go thru the eisenhower tunnel and the continental divide. From Silverthorne/dillon/Frisco take 9 south past breckenridge and over hoover pass. to 285 in fairplay. That will take you thru buena vista and salida, and over poncha pass. the turn onto 17 is easy to miss, but that will get you close enough to see the signs. If you want to experience an old fashioned steam train ride, a little further south in antonito is the cumbres and toltec scenic railroad. its a beautiful trip up mountain passes and tunnels. I've lived in Colorado for 2 1/2 years now and still haven't seen all the great sights. I've traveled all of these roads and recomment them. Have a great time!
  10. Buy a bad boy air horn at harbor freight tools and an install kit with wire harness and bracket from I think sky doc and you'll be much better off. My opinion only. g

Way too much money for way too many miles. For 3K you should be able to get a 650 with 5 to 10,000 miles on it. I have a 2003 650 custom with 6,000 miles that i'm selling for $2,600.
  12. Glad you liked our city. great photos of the tourist attractions. Hope you left lots of $$$ here
  13. If you liked basspro, then try cabelas. They make basspro look like an old Kmart.
  14. There's a diagnostic procedure in the service manual that will help you troubleshoot. It could be a contact not closing on the brake lever, or some other interlock.
  15. I would add that when you get it to work, don't forget to turn the cd player off, eg. switch to radio or aux before you shut off the ignition otherwise it will drain your battery.
  16. I did the same thing- forward controls on a vstar 650 which is my second bike. Love it. They changed the whole feel and handling of the bike.

  19. Don't listen to any of these guys. Get a subscription to money magazine and get educated. And don't let anyone talk you into buying an annuity! G

  21. With a week you could see half the state. Near the springs you have:pikes peak, garden of the gods, Air Force acadamy, Olympic training center. A short drive royal gorge train, royal gorge bridge, whitewater rafting on the Arkansas river. Gambling and great scenery in cripple creek. we've lived here almost 2 years and are still exploring the state. north of Denver rocky mtn Nat'l park is a must see.
  22. Sometimes my tablet doesn't like the little buttons on websites, couldn't reply to your pm but will find an envelope and get it in the mail. No payment needed. gary
  23. 6 from golden west follows the clear creek and has lots of turns and a few tunnels.
  24. I have an extra cable that came with the cd player when I bought it from another member. If it's the one you need you can have it. the end has a round connector with 13 pins arranged in a 1 4 4 4 layout. the cable is 16 ft long. I will send you a photo or two to confirm. Let me know. Gary My cable looks identical to the photo on ebay.
