Thanks for posting.Very nice to get things running again. -
I got a letter from Minnesota's DMV when I bought my v 65 magna saying the vin. didn't match their records. So I thought "did I buy a stolen bike"? I had asked my bride to register the bike for me and told her the numbers are on the motor and they have numerals and letters . The DMV had the vin. # 1N23456 as it turns out that's the shifting pattern of a 1983 v 65 Magna, and you get that off the left side. got to love her.

Bricks are not structural that are used for decorative work I.E. chimney. If they are tall /big enough they will have their own footing. This is why your house will settle and the chimney doesn't.They might have framed around the chimney and attached some of it to the brick. I would look at the water heater using the older chimney as an exhaust flue first. http://www.csia.org/HomeownerResources/ChimneySafetyInfo/GasAppliances/tabid/129/Default.aspx this will help show you what to look at using the chimney. I do boiler upgrade and replacements in large buildings (schools, post offices) this summer a school in St. Paul MN had a old 65 ' tall beautiful brick chimney from 1932 .a 5' ID and all lined with fire brick in a soldier course. They had used this for coal /fuel oil and natural gas .When we went to put a new make up air vent in the side of it (on the outside ) they saw cut through 20" of brick and all the mortar had deteriorated from the natural gas being funneled up it over the years.you could take your finger and push any of the fire brick lose.We were suppose to run a 20" flue up this chimney too but chose a different way after seeing that. If you keep your chimney use a steel flue for your water heater they are a great way through the house.

That sounds like a great plan. I had those same thoughts and sold my bike a 92 750 Seca but after 3 yrs. my wife could see my frustration and bought it back for me . (got to love her) I had been ridding since I was 12. The first mini bike was a car starter motor and two batteries on a frame, you had to get it rolling before hitting the button. Now the sailing sounds fun to me but the wife I'm not sure she would go along with that.We have a sail boat now ,1976 23' Watkins and there is nothing like sailing .This summer we never got out, work got in the way . I tell my bride that I'm going to have a mid-life crises and sail away and the only thing stopping me is the Coon Rapids Dam (the last dam before the lock system on the Mississippi) I'll give you a ride past the dam was her response. Nothing stops you from getting another bike and moving back on land as long as you have your health your set. Enjoy the trip no matter what.

my dad use to say " if you don't ask you don't get " I always ask a lot of questions . Some turn to crime to get into jail were meds ,meals and room and board are on the house. -
Hats off to the PGR and all the good they do . Sure beats camping out and whining about someone that works harder than they do and should be punished for it. Great video for sure.

Two wheels is two wheels in my world and couldn't care what someone rides or doesn't. But my Hardly buds, I tell them it's nice to know that when I'm in my golden years that I can take off 2 plug wires and still keep up to them. V twin = V slow

I have never owned a bike with a radio let alone a "tape deck" before. I have never owned a bike with air shocks . I have never owned a bike with hard removable bags. I have never owned a bike with cruse control. I have never owned a bike with a clock I have never owned a bike that weighs 800lbs Man what have I been missing ? A 1985 Venture Royal is what.I took a road trip to Lake Superior last weekend with my brother .I'm getting use to this bike and think this near mint 26 year old bike is really going to be nice . I have a 1983 Honda V65 Magna so I'm use to a bit more power and 300lbs lighter but this is a ripen machine. We put on 730 miles and didn't miss a beat.I need to get some work done on the carbs cleaning mostly but here in Minnesota winter gets long and plenty of time to a few things. Did I say how much I like this Yamaha. Oh, I know someone with a V 65 for sale.
